Speaker:Well,
Speaker:that's a really great way to kick this
Speaker:off because, you know, Dr. Fab,
Speaker:what does this moment in time mean for
Speaker:you?
Speaker:This new chapter,
Speaker:not only with the book Self-Health,
Speaker:but the message you're bringing forward
Speaker:right now.
Speaker:Well,
Speaker:I believe that we're living at a time
Speaker:that after the pandemic for thirty five
Speaker:years,
Speaker:I've been asking audiences around the
Speaker:world,
Speaker:what is the three things that they value
Speaker:the most in their life?
Speaker:health was less than ten percent of those
Speaker:three things less than ten percent really
Speaker:after the pandemic it jumped to seventy
Speaker:percent people are now putting health as a
Speaker:priority in their lives and the reason for
Speaker:that is because the pandemic caused a lot
Speaker:of suffering a lot of uh
Speaker:questioning,
Speaker:do I follow my traditional way of doing
Speaker:things?
Speaker:Do I follow my gut feeling?
Speaker:Do I get a vaccine?
Speaker:Do I not get a vaccine?
Speaker:Do I go and get ivermectin wherever I
Speaker:can get it or do I not?
Speaker:So it made people understand that at the
Speaker:end of the day, no one,
Speaker:no one should have
Speaker:more influence into your health than you.
Speaker:It's our bodies.
Speaker:This should be the thing that we treasure
Speaker:the most in our lives because you can
Speaker:have people come into your house and clean
Speaker:your house and maybe they break a vase
Speaker:or two, but hey, you can replace it.
Speaker:You can actually have somebody valet your
Speaker:car or even wash your car and they
Speaker:scratch it or whatever,
Speaker:but you can fix it.
Speaker:You can replace it.
Speaker:This is the only body we get in
Speaker:our journey in life.
Speaker:This is the only body we get.
Speaker:So we got to start making great decisions.
Speaker:And I've never seen in the last thirty
Speaker:eight years that I've been a provider,
Speaker:I've never seen a time where people are
Speaker:more eager to learn about how to make
Speaker:a better decision than today.
Speaker:I definitely agree.
Speaker:I think that like,
Speaker:there's this beautiful moment in time we
Speaker:have in our humanity where this big event
Speaker:of COVID, like you said,
Speaker:it allowed people to empower themselves to
Speaker:make their own.
Speaker:I've been saying,
Speaker:I love empowering people to make their own
Speaker:informed, confident decisions.
Speaker:It's our jobs to give them information.
Speaker:It's their job to make the choice, right?
Speaker:And I love what you said because
Speaker:It's also I want to get this and
Speaker:we'll get it out of this whole
Speaker:conversation.
Speaker:But like the health care system itself,
Speaker:too, is I think with COVID,
Speaker:it brought a lot of people to that
Speaker:place where they they stopped trusting
Speaker:certain things like the person telling
Speaker:them what's wrong with them to get this
Speaker:to do this because it forced them to
Speaker:kind of, again, like you said,
Speaker:make those decisions.
Speaker:And I think we're at the golden age
Speaker:of health because you and I share that
Speaker:same core belief of the health that
Speaker:healing starts and ends within.
Speaker:We all have the capacity to heal each
Speaker:other.
Speaker:I come from the pharmacist world.
Speaker:So I'm teaching pharmacists all over the
Speaker:world with wellness is we all know what
Speaker:the placebo effect is,
Speaker:but pharma washes it out, right?
Speaker:And we're like, well,
Speaker:We want to nurture how the body heals
Speaker:itself because that's really what the
Speaker:placebo is.
Speaker:It's not that people don't get better off
Speaker:nothing.
Speaker:They get better off something.
Speaker:It's just not the drug.
Speaker:And that's what we're talking about here.
Speaker:So you've inspired millions through not
Speaker:only being your practitioner,
Speaker:but leadership and speaking all over the
Speaker:world.
Speaker:When you look back,
Speaker:what was your own defining moment that
Speaker:awakened your purpose as a healer?
Speaker:I will have to say that when I
Speaker:was sixteen years old,
Speaker:I had my dream that I saw myself
Speaker:as a doctor.
Speaker:So that started then.
Speaker:And then two weeks later, I mean,
Speaker:and then I entered pre-med school and six
Speaker:weeks or six months before I started
Speaker:medical school,
Speaker:I was involved in a car accident,
Speaker:went to a doctor of chiropractic referred
Speaker:by the orthopedic surgeon at emergency.
Speaker:He actually said to me,
Speaker:I can give you painkillers and muscle
Speaker:relaxers, but you have severe whiplash.
Speaker:Why don't you go see my doctor of
Speaker:chiropractic?
Speaker:Never heard the words before.
Speaker:Didn't know what a chiropractor was.
Speaker:Assume that it was a specialty in
Speaker:medicine.
Speaker:In that office, Josh,
Speaker:he said three things to me that changed
Speaker:my life.
Speaker:That was my defining moment.
Speaker:The first thing he said is,
Speaker:in our office,
Speaker:we're gonna remind you every day that your
Speaker:body is a self-healing organism.
Speaker:I never had a professor.
Speaker:I never had a medical doctor.
Speaker:I never had a nurse.
Speaker:I never had anybody in the health field
Speaker:ever,
Speaker:ever said to me that my body was
Speaker:self-healing.
Speaker:never number two your body is made up
Speaker:of systems and organs and in our office
Speaker:we're going to work primarily with the
Speaker:nervous system because it controls and
Speaker:regulates your whole body and that's what
Speaker:we do through gentle adjusting and then
Speaker:lastly this is the one that did it
Speaker:for me in our office we're not going
Speaker:to spend the majority of our time managing
Speaker:your symptoms we're actually going to be
Speaker:spending the majority of our time dealing
Speaker:with the root cause of your health
Speaker:problems
Speaker:And that was like, I mean,
Speaker:I still get hair bumps, you know,
Speaker:hair standing up because I got a sense
Speaker:of what I've always felt as I was
Speaker:undergraduate.
Speaker:And that is that the body has a
Speaker:greater ability to heal.
Speaker:And if we can prevent illness,
Speaker:we can actually help eradicate most of
Speaker:these conditions today.
Speaker:But nobody was talking like that.
Speaker:There was no wellness.
Speaker:There was no integrative medicine.
Speaker:There was no complementary medicine.
Speaker:There was no functional medicine.
Speaker:There was nothing.
Speaker:It was just, I mean,
Speaker:when I went to my advisor,
Speaker:what kind of specialty can I get?
Speaker:He said, well,
Speaker:become a doctor of chiropractic because
Speaker:they're the mainstream in holistic health.
Speaker:And then I also studied acupuncture as I
Speaker:became a chiropractor because I discovered
Speaker:it while I was in school and nutrition
Speaker:and everything else.
Speaker:But that was my defining moment.
Speaker:the managing of symptoms focus of
Speaker:healthcare is completely broken.
Speaker:It doesn't work and it has eradicated,
Speaker:according to HHS recently,
Speaker:seventy six percent of Americans have a
Speaker:chronic disease,
Speaker:which the majority can be prevented or at
Speaker:least managed holistically by addressing
Speaker:the root causes.
Speaker:And that's really what really started it
Speaker:all for me.
Speaker:And it's
Speaker:It is,
Speaker:it's capital T truth for me too.
Speaker:And we know that because it resonates that
Speaker:way.
Speaker:And then, you know,
Speaker:you lifted all those modalities of like
Speaker:chiropractic, holistic, integrative,
Speaker:now functional.
Speaker:And it's,
Speaker:I've been saying this as, you know,
Speaker:maybe I'm a unicorn because the pharmacist
Speaker:doesn't normally say these things,
Speaker:but it's like the body does have an
Speaker:innate ability to heal.
Speaker:And now what I love about that is,
Speaker:but we thought that was sort of mystical,
Speaker:right?
Speaker:There's this mystical piece.
Speaker:And now we're at that intersection of
Speaker:science proving the art of the mystical of
Speaker:why the body heals itself and getting into
Speaker:that root root cause.
Speaker:And you and I share these
Speaker:same energies and thoughts,
Speaker:because that's all we're doing now.
Speaker:That's all I tell people now is like,
Speaker:I'm not in the business of symptom
Speaker:management.
Speaker:I'm only in the business of transformation
Speaker:and healing.
Speaker:If you want to talk on those things,
Speaker:we'll talk right.
Speaker:And getting the body and empowering people
Speaker:to understand that you can heal yourself
Speaker:is so powerful.
Speaker:And I'm
Speaker:I'm so privileged to be on this stage
Speaker:with you because that's what you've been.
Speaker:How cool is it that you actually got
Speaker:that at the earliest part of your career?
Speaker:I've met people like that where it's like,
Speaker:But now we're here.
Speaker:And that's the essence of the book.
Speaker:And your book, the new book, Self-Health,
Speaker:is you challenge the idea that chronic
Speaker:disease is inevitable.
Speaker:And you kind of talk to us about
Speaker:what inspired that message.
Speaker:So how do you define self-healing for
Speaker:someone who's been told by the system
Speaker:that...
Speaker:And I don't like the word diagnosis
Speaker:anymore either because it puts people in a
Speaker:position of the opposite of healing.
Speaker:Something's wrong with them instead of,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:I think it's what the ancients and what
Speaker:the Eastern medicine has had for years is
Speaker:instead of looking at the problem,
Speaker:you look at fixing the imbalance.
Speaker:And I know that's a lot about how
Speaker:your story and what comes.
Speaker:So what is...
Speaker:What do you tell people about that?
Speaker:Like moving them from that sick care model
Speaker:into this well care healing model?
Speaker:Well,
Speaker:when I wrote my book about twelve years
Speaker:ago,
Speaker:my fourth book was called The Power of
Speaker:Self-Healing with Hay House.
Speaker:And that book became number one in twelve
Speaker:countries, translated in eight languages.
Speaker:Yeah, I read it a long time ago.
Speaker:It impacted the world a great deal.
Speaker:And in that book, Josh,
Speaker:what my message was that your body can
Speaker:heal itself, right?
Speaker:So I interviewed fifty people that
Speaker:actually healed whenever they were told by
Speaker:traditional medicine that they would not
Speaker:heal.
Speaker:And I asked them,
Speaker:what was it that did it?
Speaker:And we came up with three dimensions of
Speaker:healing, which is physical,
Speaker:emotional and spiritual.
Speaker:And then I gave people a twenty one
Speaker:day process where they can self heal
Speaker:themselves.
Speaker:And that book is still today selling like
Speaker:crazy.
Speaker:Twelve years later,
Speaker:I still do about twenty lectures a year
Speaker:on that book.
Speaker:So then fast forward when we saw the
Speaker:changes in Washington and when I noticed
Speaker:that the HHS office and Bobby Kennedy was
Speaker:driving,
Speaker:the one main function was
Speaker:we're going to address our priority is
Speaker:chronic disease because it's ninety
Speaker:percent of the health care costs.
Speaker:I felt like I needed to bring another
Speaker:message to the picture,
Speaker:not only that your body has the ability
Speaker:to heal,
Speaker:but the message on self-health is very
Speaker:different.
Speaker:It's that, yes,
Speaker:your body has the ability to heal,
Speaker:but what allows that healing to take place
Speaker:is
Speaker:the choices that I'm making today when it
Speaker:comes to my health in comparison to the
Speaker:ones that I made yesterday.
Speaker:So this is how I framed it in
Speaker:the book.
Speaker:Imagine you were just born and I'm gonna
Speaker:give you, as you leave the hospital,
Speaker:I'm gonna give you a backpack.
Speaker:Think of it as a invisible backpack.
Speaker:And in that backpack,
Speaker:everything that your parents do from the
Speaker:moment you're born as you're younger,
Speaker:to everything that you do as you turn
Speaker:into a young person, teenager,
Speaker:early adult,
Speaker:to everything that you do in your forties,
Speaker:fifties, sixties, and seventies,
Speaker:if you make a bad choice,
Speaker:such as not sleeping enough,
Speaker:over drinking, experimenting with drugs,
Speaker:not exercising on a regular basis,
Speaker:eating processed foods,
Speaker:the typical American diet, right?
Speaker:It's sixty percent processed food instead
Speaker:of whole foods.
Speaker:All of those things is like putting a
Speaker:rock in your backpack.
Speaker:That's what chronic disease is.
Speaker:So as you get older,
Speaker:All of a sudden,
Speaker:you can get a cane to help support
Speaker:you, but that backpack is gonna get heavy,
Speaker:and it's gonna prevent you from living the
Speaker:quality of life that you were born to
Speaker:be.
Speaker:That's what really can prevent,
Speaker:or that's what health plan, in my opinion,
Speaker:is all about.
Speaker:Now,
Speaker:the opposite happens when you start making
Speaker:good choices.
Speaker:When you begin to recognize that your body
Speaker:needs to be a priority,
Speaker:that your mindset is one that says,
Speaker:as I get older,
Speaker:I should be getting healthier,
Speaker:not unhealthier.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:Because now you have more control of your
Speaker:choices rather than the choices that your
Speaker:parents made for you,
Speaker:even though they did their best.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:Maybe some of those choices were not the
Speaker:best for you.
Speaker:And then you begin to make choices.
Speaker:better choices for yourself,
Speaker:you begin to recognize what are the true
Speaker:things that science has proven that can
Speaker:actually reverse my biological age,
Speaker:that can make me feel more energetic,
Speaker:that can allow me to be at peace
Speaker:and manage my stress better.
Speaker:And that's the way I framed it in
Speaker:the book.
Speaker:So that's really what I'm trying to do
Speaker:with this book is to teach people that
Speaker:the only thing that reverses chronic
Speaker:disease is the choices that they are
Speaker:making themselves.
Speaker:Because no matter if I give you a
Speaker:silver platter, the answer to arthritis,
Speaker:the answer to obesity,
Speaker:the answer to diabetes doesn't mean you're
Speaker:going to do it.
Speaker:It's always back to the person and that's
Speaker:the message.
Speaker:And we have, I love this because
Speaker:we just talking about this the other day,
Speaker:cause my,
Speaker:my alignment arc process is very similar.
Speaker:It's teaching people that it's not just
Speaker:body, it's mind.
Speaker:We know mind body connection.
Speaker:And we,
Speaker:now we know energy and spirit in such
Speaker:a different way.
Speaker:You said it ancient wisdom and modern
Speaker:science.
Speaker:We're right here.
Speaker:And I, I,
Speaker:I just want to pause because like,
Speaker:that is the power of the messages choice.
Speaker:It's sovereignty.
Speaker:It's, it's having the, your own agency.
Speaker:We all have our choice.
Speaker:I was talking about this just yesterday
Speaker:with somebody was no matter what,
Speaker:like you can,
Speaker:but if you point the finger this way,
Speaker:right, you can't,
Speaker:a lot of us have pointed the finger
Speaker:this way saying this made me do this.
Speaker:This is the thing.
Speaker:And this is thing.
Speaker:I love that.
Speaker:Uh,
Speaker:I love your analogy with the backpack
Speaker:because it's so easy to like take the
Speaker:rock out because you have that choice
Speaker:today.
Speaker:And I think it's very powerful to making
Speaker:a better choice than you did yesterday.
Speaker:So instead of saying make good choices,
Speaker:just say, all right, today's a new day.
Speaker:Make one different choice.
Speaker:I always say flip the script, right?
Speaker:Just flip the script.
Speaker:Instead of like...
Speaker:And it can be as simple as taking
Speaker:a bottle of Coca-Cola and giving yourself
Speaker:a bottle of seltzer water.
Speaker:Just one thing.
Speaker:Or just simple water.
Speaker:Doesn't matter.
Speaker:You're right.
Speaker:And so I love how that's the essence
Speaker:of this book because now getting in front
Speaker:of choice now is important.
Speaker:is because we all say choice but then
Speaker:what's the what do you think is that
Speaker:actual space where somebody takes that
Speaker:choice well the important thing is that a
Speaker:lot of the chronic disease has been
Speaker:attributed to lifestyle and yesterday i
Speaker:was in los angeles speaking at an event
Speaker:with a bunch of doctors and health
Speaker:providers and one of the things that
Speaker:I said to the audience is that,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:sometimes reversing chronic disease or
Speaker:becoming healthier,
Speaker:it's not a matter of adding more things
Speaker:into your life.
Speaker:It's a matter of removing those things
Speaker:that are actually causing most of these
Speaker:symptoms.
Speaker:I give you an example.
Speaker:When I entered the world of chiropractic,
Speaker:I was taught that I needed to have
Speaker:an air purifier around me at home and
Speaker:at the office.
Speaker:And for thirty eight years,
Speaker:I have always had now I even carry
Speaker:it on the plane.
Speaker:There's some portable ones that I wear
Speaker:because there's a lot of they say since
Speaker:I'm on a plane so much that that's
Speaker:one of the areas in which you need
Speaker:to purify your environment.
Speaker:So this one covers three feet around me.
Speaker:Then I put in my hotel.
Speaker:You just plug it in and it's a
Speaker:portable one.
Speaker:So whatever hotel I'm in,
Speaker:but if you go to any of my
Speaker:homes, there are filters everywhere.
Speaker:And then the other one is water filters
Speaker:and water filter.
Speaker:A lot of experts now are saying that
Speaker:water is actually probably the most toxic
Speaker:thing that we as humans consume because
Speaker:there's over two hundred and thirty.
Speaker:Toxics not only microplastics from your
Speaker:plastic bottles.
Speaker:I'm talking about hormone, toxins, drugs.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:I mean, you name it.
Speaker:So going back to your, your question,
Speaker:the main thing that I wanted.
Speaker:For people to do is just to evaluate
Speaker:your lifestyle.
Speaker:Like, if I slept yesterday, four hours.
Speaker:for whatever reason, maybe I ate too late,
Speaker:maybe I drank too much,
Speaker:maybe I'm stressed because I fought with
Speaker:my girlfriend or boyfriend, whatever.
Speaker:Just today say,
Speaker:what can I do to ensure that I
Speaker:sleep at least eight to ten hours?
Speaker:so then maybe you go to bed a
Speaker:little bit earlier maybe you stop doing
Speaker:your tablets right the average american is
Speaker:now in their tablets for those phone ipad
Speaker:computers and all that an average of nine
Speaker:hours a day that includes our children
Speaker:yeah that means that imagine all that blue
Speaker:light and what it's doing to your brain
Speaker:it's not allowing you to be at peace
Speaker:and relaxed so do an activity today
Speaker:that would ensure that you correct or
Speaker:improve upon what you did yesterday.
Speaker:So yesterday for lunch, unfortunately,
Speaker:I was rushing and all I could do
Speaker:is stop at a fast food place.
Speaker:Well, what about if today,
Speaker:if you feel you may be rushing,
Speaker:why don't you prepare some organic,
Speaker:you know,
Speaker:meat
Speaker:and maybe some vegetables that you can
Speaker:easily heat up or eat on the road
Speaker:or maybe have i i travel with a
Speaker:portable shaker that i make my own shake
Speaker:because i know most hotels don't lend me
Speaker:a shake and if i'm a little bit
Speaker:hungry and i don't want to eat junk
Speaker:then i make me a protein shake or
Speaker:with my greens and my healthy stuff and
Speaker:it feeds my body but i feel good
Speaker:about it so the whole idea is
Speaker:The way that you transition,
Speaker:there's no transformation without
Speaker:activity.
Speaker:That's one thing I learned.
Speaker:I can read this book all day long,
Speaker:but unless I act on it,
Speaker:it would never transform my body.
Speaker:So all I'm saying to the reader is,
Speaker:and I'm giving them a lot of options
Speaker:of what to do.
Speaker:Every chapter is full of,
Speaker:these are the best things that science
Speaker:says you can do to accomplish this.
Speaker:And all I'm asking them to do is
Speaker:to make one better choice a day.
Speaker:and then what happens is as you make
Speaker:better choices every day it inspires you
Speaker:and motivates you to make more better
Speaker:choices in the future therefore achieving
Speaker:the goal of not only reversing chronic
Speaker:disease but living at your health optimum
Speaker:level so true and so aligned um because
Speaker:this
Speaker:Seventy percent of chronic conditions are
Speaker:a lifestyle issue, period.
Speaker:And lifestyle is just health coaching.
Speaker:It's really that simple.
Speaker:It's it's diet, it's exercise,
Speaker:it's stress,
Speaker:it's sleep and it's relationships.
Speaker:Those are the pillars because my wife is
Speaker:a health coach and yet it glazes right
Speaker:over.
Speaker:So I'm
Speaker:I love that you bring science into the
Speaker:book because I always tell people it's
Speaker:backed by science.
Speaker:And I love that you brought in the
Speaker:sleep because it is really fun.
Speaker:I get into these high level conversations
Speaker:with biohackers and longevity people.
Speaker:And I say like the number one longevity
Speaker:tool is sleep.
Speaker:Like if you get your sleep,
Speaker:you're already putting three and a half
Speaker:years on vibrant health on your life.
Speaker:And it's simple.
Speaker:But this nine-hour device that throws blue
Speaker:light, not only what content's in there,
Speaker:but the blue light.
Speaker:Like I just tell people it's high noon
Speaker:for your brain.
Speaker:If you're on that screen and your
Speaker:circadian rhythm is automatically off and
Speaker:then you're not sleeping well,
Speaker:it's like one thing, right?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And I always,
Speaker:I love treating high impact entrepreneurs
Speaker:because their ripple helps other people
Speaker:and helps that ripple.
Speaker:But I also tell them now, it's like,
Speaker:when you tell people to improve your
Speaker:business by one percent a day,
Speaker:by a hundred days,
Speaker:you've improved a hundred percent.
Speaker:And we're now saying this in the light
Speaker:that you said, right?
Speaker:Is this
Speaker:improve one thing that's it and it is
Speaker:it is the micro moments that count and
Speaker:so i think thank you so much for
Speaker:bringing this to light because these are
Speaker:the things that people it's simple but
Speaker:but doesn't necessarily mean easy, right?
Speaker:Because people will be doing it.
Speaker:And I'll make a comment.
Speaker:You mentioned your wife and you mentioned
Speaker:the word relationships.
Speaker:A new study just came out that showed
Speaker:that when it comes to longevity,
Speaker:number one, factor.
Speaker:to improve your longevity is the quality
Speaker:of your relationships.
Speaker:This is the longest study I believe that's
Speaker:been done up to this time.
Speaker:And when I wrote my book,
Speaker:The Power of Self-Healing,
Speaker:and I put the emotional component,
Speaker:there were three healing emotions.
Speaker:The first one was forgiveness.
Speaker:The second one was gratitude.
Speaker:And the third one was self-love.
Speaker:This is the one that is really lacking
Speaker:in today's world because most of us,
Speaker:unfortunately,
Speaker:are not loving ourselves enough.
Speaker:We don't love ourselves enough because we
Speaker:make choices that are
Speaker:toxic, distracting, painful,
Speaker:and we do it to ourselves, right?
Speaker:How many times have you been where,
Speaker:and it's tough because as an adult,
Speaker:you see it in your kids, right?
Speaker:They're surrounding themselves with
Speaker:certain kids that you know is gonna cause
Speaker:them pain and getting them in trouble,
Speaker:whether in school or after school or in
Speaker:sports or whatever,
Speaker:but we do it ourselves too.
Speaker:We surround ourselves in people in
Speaker:companies that are constantly complaining.
Speaker:Nothing is ever perfect.
Speaker:And now with the politics,
Speaker:you can't even bring in politics because
Speaker:people get polarized and everything is so
Speaker:split right now.
Speaker:So the important thing is to do this,
Speaker:is to understand.
Speaker:that if you just work right now on
Speaker:the relationship with yourself and begin
Speaker:to love yourself a little bit more,
Speaker:and then spend a little bit quality time
Speaker:in the relationships that you have,
Speaker:whether it's your family, your coworkers,
Speaker:whether it's your friends, whoever,
Speaker:then understand that then that's part of
Speaker:that health component that I'm trying to
Speaker:say.
Speaker:So no matter whether it's sleep,
Speaker:whether it's exercise,
Speaker:whether it's nutrition,
Speaker:all I'm saying is make a better decision
Speaker:today that will hopefully transform you
Speaker:into a healthier person tomorrow.
Speaker:Such wisdom in simplicity.
Speaker:And I kid with people too,
Speaker:because I say we're the only mammals on
Speaker:the planet that knowingly do bad things to
Speaker:ourselves.
Speaker:You don't see the squirrel going to
Speaker:McDonald's and eating a fry,
Speaker:but in his environment,
Speaker:if he's going to survive and that's all
Speaker:he eats, of course he eats that.
Speaker:But they don't make bad decisions.
Speaker:They know what's inherently good for them.
Speaker:And it's part of our human experience.
Speaker:But at the same time,
Speaker:I believe we're making that full circle
Speaker:back into this space.
Speaker:So let's go in there.
Speaker:Let's bridge science and spirit here
Speaker:because we both are bridging this body,
Speaker:mind, spirit.
Speaker:So you and I both believe that true
Speaker:healing goes beyond just the physical.
Speaker:So how do you bridge the science of
Speaker:health and wellness with the spirit of
Speaker:healing in your work?
Speaker:So when I wrote The Power of Self-Healing,
Speaker:almost every single person of the fifty
Speaker:patients that I interviewed mentioned some
Speaker:kind of spiritual component to their
Speaker:healing process.
Speaker:For some people it was prayer,
Speaker:for some people it was meditation,
Speaker:for some people was surrounding themselves
Speaker:with nature,
Speaker:for some people it was
Speaker:connecting with a belief system that was
Speaker:higher or better than what the one that
Speaker:they were at the time of the disease
Speaker:process.
Speaker:And so I began to really pay attention
Speaker:to that.
Speaker:And in my research,
Speaker:I went to the science and then I
Speaker:realized that all of these things have
Speaker:tremendous science.
Speaker:There are more studies on prayer.
Speaker:But most people never look at prayer as
Speaker:a scientific aspect.
Speaker:There are so many studies on meditation,
Speaker:even though it gets completely dismissed
Speaker:still by most of the traditional space.
Speaker:So in chiropractic,
Speaker:there's two things that I would tell you
Speaker:that were impactful things to me that were
Speaker:said to me early on in my career.
Speaker:The first one was when I entered
Speaker:chiropractic school,
Speaker:we were studying philosophy of
Speaker:chiropractic,
Speaker:and part of the philosophy of chiropractic
Speaker:by Daniel David Palmer, our founder,
Speaker:was that there is a universal intelligence
Speaker:that is expressed within the human body as
Speaker:innate intelligence,
Speaker:and it's one and the same.
Speaker:And when that expression is fully open to
Speaker:be expressed properly,
Speaker:the body has a greater ability to heal,
Speaker:right?
Speaker:So in acupuncture,
Speaker:I learned that you have chi,
Speaker:which is energy.
Speaker:And that energy is abundant in the
Speaker:universe,
Speaker:but it transmits itself through you
Speaker:through twelve meridians.
Speaker:And we have points throughout the body of
Speaker:those meridians.
Speaker:And when those meridians are balanced and
Speaker:full of charge and energy,
Speaker:your body has a greater ability to heal.
Speaker:So to me,
Speaker:one of the best things that one can
Speaker:do from a spiritual perspective is
Speaker:understanding that this body of us is a
Speaker:reflection only of something much better,
Speaker:something much purer, something greater.
Speaker:And I'm going to tell you a story
Speaker:that changed my life about that.
Speaker:So that was number one,
Speaker:universal intelligence,
Speaker:innate intelligence, expression of self.
Speaker:And then I meet Wayne Dyer.
Speaker:And Wayne Dyer in my early career became
Speaker:one of my best friends.
Speaker:I was his doctor.
Speaker:And Wayne shared with me a statement that
Speaker:says, you know, Fab,
Speaker:the key to life is when you learn
Speaker:to appreciate
Speaker:that we are not human beings living a
Speaker:spiritual experience but we're actually
Speaker:spiritual beings living a human experience
Speaker:yes so what i did as a provider
Speaker:i would look at my patient regardless of
Speaker:the diagnosis regardless of the
Speaker:symptomatology of the patient i would look
Speaker:at them as a spiritual being that is
Speaker:completely perfect i would see them well
Speaker:no matter what the condition was
Speaker:And I will then begin to work on
Speaker:the things that I've been taught to try
Speaker:to allow that expression to come through.
Speaker:So that's what I could do as a
Speaker:provider.
Speaker:And then in the eighties,
Speaker:I meet another influential friend to me,
Speaker:which is a guy named Dr. Bernie Siegel.
Speaker:And Bernie became very famous because he
Speaker:was one of the top oncologists in the
Speaker:world in the eighties and early nineties.
Speaker:He was getting results on cancer when
Speaker:nobody else was,
Speaker:and people wanted to know what.
Speaker:Oprah made him very famous.
Speaker:He wrote many books.
Speaker:So one day he comes to visit one
Speaker:of my mentors and I volunteered to drive
Speaker:him.
Speaker:right because that's what you do when
Speaker:you're a student of life you put yourself
Speaker:in positions to learn to absorb to grow
Speaker:from other people so while i'm driving him
Speaker:i asked him i said dr seger
Speaker:You're getting results, you know,
Speaker:I'm just a student,
Speaker:but you're getting results where nobody
Speaker:else in the most difficult thing that
Speaker:we've seen in healthcare cancer.
Speaker:And he said, Fab,
Speaker:there's three things that I look for in
Speaker:a patient that will dictate how good of
Speaker:a chance they will have to go into
Speaker:remission and hopefully resolving their
Speaker:cancer.
Speaker:The first one was how much do they
Speaker:believe in the treatment that they're
Speaker:doing?
Speaker:They have to believe in whatever
Speaker:treatment,
Speaker:whether it's a microbiotic diet,
Speaker:acupuncture needle,
Speaker:chiropractic adjustment,
Speaker:functional medicine, IV, whatever.
Speaker:Number two,
Speaker:how much do they believe in the provider
Speaker:that is actually delivering that
Speaker:treatment?
Speaker:And lastly, Josh, he said to me,
Speaker:and do they believe that the body can
Speaker:actually heal the cancer?
Speaker:So then I said to him, I said,
Speaker:well, Dr. Segal,
Speaker:I can't believe you're telling me this.
Speaker:After all these years of studying and all
Speaker:this research,
Speaker:everything you've done in your life,
Speaker:you telling me that it comes down to
Speaker:a belief system,
Speaker:whether somebody is actually gonna heal or
Speaker:not?
Speaker:He says, absolutely.
Speaker:To me, I see the belief system,
Speaker:and I wrote about it,
Speaker:as a spiritual component.
Speaker:It's where you upgrade your mindset beyond
Speaker:the physical.
Speaker:Because my mindset is only typically a
Speaker:collection of my reality, right?
Speaker:That's where I live.
Speaker:My mindset is equal to my reality.
Speaker:You want to upgrade your reality,
Speaker:upgrade your mindset.
Speaker:So for health, it's the same thing.
Speaker:If you allow to choose a diagnosis,
Speaker:which I call it a life sentence,
Speaker:by somebody else,
Speaker:which is just an opinion,
Speaker:they are only telling you what they were
Speaker:trained in school to do.
Speaker:If you don't like that opinion or resonate
Speaker:with that opinion,
Speaker:go to somebody else that has a different
Speaker:opinion, different training,
Speaker:different background,
Speaker:different experiences.
Speaker:And if you don't like that,
Speaker:go to somebody else until you find
Speaker:something that resonates with your core.
Speaker:And that's where you upgrade your belief
Speaker:system.
Speaker:Therefore,
Speaker:maybe getting the results that you're
Speaker:looking for when everybody else around you
Speaker:is failing in the same diagnosis that you
Speaker:have.
Speaker:Hmm.
Speaker:Right?
Speaker:The biology of belief.
Speaker:I mean, Bruce Lipton said it many times,
Speaker:you know?
Speaker:And it's down to the molecule.
Speaker:So now it's...
Speaker:This is why I love these conversations
Speaker:because...
Speaker:Spirit and science, wisdom and knowledge,
Speaker:it's all coming together because our left
Speaker:brain, West world opinions has to see it,
Speaker:right?
Speaker:You can't see belief.
Speaker:Like I'm a cancer survivor.
Speaker:I had cancer at sixteen and those three
Speaker:components were innate in me.
Speaker:And I've spent a whole my whole lifetime
Speaker:searching for what is that, right?
Speaker:It's that belief system.
Speaker:I love where you said belief
Speaker:in the treatment, in the practitioner,
Speaker:and in the belief that you can heal.
Speaker:That your body has the ability to heal
Speaker:it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And that's exactly what I did when I
Speaker:was in treatment.
Speaker:I didn't know it at the time that
Speaker:there was a formula,
Speaker:that there was these things.
Speaker:And it's like I've gone all the way
Speaker:up there and back with science and
Speaker:spirituality.
Speaker:And there's definitely tools to get us
Speaker:there in more ways, right?
Speaker:To believe in a higher self,
Speaker:to believe in something bigger than you.
Speaker:I love that component that you reminded me
Speaker:of is like we're –
Speaker:we're divine beings living a human
Speaker:experience with these five senses that we
Speaker:have weird.
Speaker:I got to ask this though,
Speaker:because you're on that edge too,
Speaker:and you've been speaking it for decades,
Speaker:but where do you think the myth,
Speaker:the what's still missing in modern science
Speaker:to, we have the proof,
Speaker:we have the data, we have this,
Speaker:but we're still not talking as first line
Speaker:therapy to,
Speaker:belief, lifestyle, you know,
Speaker:modern day medicine,
Speaker:if we're going to call it that.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:The sick care model is symptom resolution.
Speaker:Take a prescription pill for the ill.
Speaker:I'm diagnosing you.
Speaker:I like that life sentence.
Speaker:I don't use the word diagnosis anymore.
Speaker:I wash that out the first meeting I
Speaker:have with my clients.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:We don't label ourselves.
Speaker:It's a death sentence,
Speaker:especially if the doctor says you have six
Speaker:months to live.
Speaker:Of course you do now because you here's
Speaker:the reverse of that belief.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:Now you believe.
Speaker:And the clock is ticking.
Speaker:How many because they're the expert.
Speaker:And the belief is also fun because the
Speaker:reverse of the placebo effect,
Speaker:when somebody cures themselves of cancer
Speaker:with a placebo,
Speaker:and then you reveal to them that they
Speaker:cured themselves of nothing,
Speaker:but then they believe that that nothing
Speaker:wasn't really anything and they actually
Speaker:get cancer again.
Speaker:Yeah, it's amazing how the power of this.
Speaker:It's not the mind.
Speaker:It's bigger than that.
Speaker:You said, where do you see the missing?
Speaker:What are we missing in Cairo school and
Speaker:pharmacy school in medical school?
Speaker:Well, you're like,
Speaker:it's still like I'm still screaming at my
Speaker:peers about this,
Speaker:but they still not get it.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:I've been blessed to have traveled all
Speaker:over the world through my speaking and my
Speaker:training.
Speaker:In Mexico,
Speaker:I brought them all the holistic sciences
Speaker:in the universities that they build so
Speaker:they can reduce their costs and improve
Speaker:the satisfaction of their patients because
Speaker:ninety four percent of the health care
Speaker:bill, the government pays for it.
Speaker:And I can tell you,
Speaker:I'll boil it down to this.
Speaker:The United States is probably the worst
Speaker:example of it all because I see that
Speaker:countries like China, Asia, Japan, Korea,
Speaker:they're more advanced in many ways towards
Speaker:prevention.
Speaker:India, of course, with Ayurvedic medicine,
Speaker:very much preventative.
Speaker:europe i lived in europe multiple times
Speaker:and europe they use homeopathy like we use
Speaker:here regular things they try homeopathy
Speaker:before they try a drug so it boils
Speaker:down to this
Speaker:that the majority of the healthcare system
Speaker:is still primarily financed and influenced
Speaker:by pharmaceutical companies.
Speaker:It's that simple.
Speaker:This is not a secret anymore.
Speaker:We know that pharmaceutical companies
Speaker:funded healthcare.
Speaker:Now they're funding all the agencies of
Speaker:healthcare,
Speaker:including the American Medical Association
Speaker:and you go on and on.
Speaker:So in Washington,
Speaker:When I read the book by Kylie Means
Speaker:and Casey Means,
Speaker:I realized that the lobbying,
Speaker:the lobbying part of healthcare is really
Speaker:being completely overlooked of how
Speaker:powerful it is,
Speaker:where now these legislators,
Speaker:in order to stay in office,
Speaker:they need money.
Speaker:So if I get money,
Speaker:now I have to support your cause because
Speaker:you're supporting my cause.
Speaker:And it's been a game that's been played
Speaker:years after years.
Speaker:Look at it now.
Speaker:The government shut down because of
Speaker:healthcare issues.
Speaker:Now, instead of coming together and say,
Speaker:hey, guys,
Speaker:let's get into this room and let's go
Speaker:back and forth.
Speaker:Let's bring experts on both sides.
Speaker:Let's discuss it.
Speaker:No, we're going to shut down.
Speaker:Unless you go back to the things we
Speaker:were doing before, you know,
Speaker:in this country,
Speaker:we're going to shut down the government.
Speaker:There's no...
Speaker:When there's a lack of conversation or
Speaker:communication, then you lost the battle,
Speaker:right?
Speaker:So that's not the answer.
Speaker:So I think that...
Speaker:The way that we win this is not
Speaker:going to be necessarily by the third
Speaker:parties.
Speaker:That will unfold in time.
Speaker:What I'm trying to do for the last
Speaker:thirty eight years is empower the
Speaker:individual to at least recognize what is
Speaker:already inherited there already.
Speaker:I'm not giving them anything new.
Speaker:I just want them to have an awareness
Speaker:that when you have a fever,
Speaker:that's a good thing.
Speaker:The last thing you want to do is
Speaker:stop that fever, right?
Speaker:Because your fever is creating antibodies
Speaker:that is actually helping fight whatever
Speaker:infection, bacterial, viral,
Speaker:that your body's going through.
Speaker:If you all of the sudden try to
Speaker:do something to stop that process,
Speaker:now you never really resolve it.
Speaker:And guess what?
Speaker:You fake your body to think it doesn't
Speaker:have to produce it anymore because you're
Speaker:going to give them antibodies anyway.
Speaker:So, I mean,
Speaker:these are the little things that are so
Speaker:common sense to us that have been in
Speaker:it for a while.
Speaker:But to the average person, you know,
Speaker:it's like, oh, I have diarrhea.
Speaker:I'm getting that petto-bismol.
Speaker:Instead of releasing that toxicity,
Speaker:whatever you ate, whatever you did,
Speaker:your body needs to get rid of.
Speaker:So I think that the way we win
Speaker:this,
Speaker:what is needed is for people to do
Speaker:what you're doing through your show,
Speaker:what you do through your lectures is to
Speaker:keep educating people and encouraging them
Speaker:to take the time to learn more about
Speaker:where health comes from.
Speaker:How do they maintain their health?
Speaker:What are the things that are now being
Speaker:proven through science that could be
Speaker:contributing to your symptoms,
Speaker:to your sickness, through your diagnosis?
Speaker:I call them opinions.
Speaker:I don't call them a diagnosis.
Speaker:It's like if you change the word diagnosis
Speaker:to an opinion, you can say, well, honey,
Speaker:can you believe the doctor's opinion was
Speaker:this?
Speaker:Instead of, oh,
Speaker:I've been diagnosed with that,
Speaker:which now all of a sudden I'm going
Speaker:to believe.
Speaker:It's a label.
Speaker:I don't want to be labeled, right?
Speaker:And I don't even believe in the concept
Speaker:of diagnosis because the problem is once
Speaker:you have a diagnosis,
Speaker:now there's a treatment protocol that is
Speaker:supposed to feed everybody out there.
Speaker:And that's what they do.
Speaker:you got this diagnosis, okay,
Speaker:I'm going to prescribe you this, this,
Speaker:and that.
Speaker:Everything is cookie science.
Speaker:And to me, that should never be.
Speaker:It's got to be personalized science.
Speaker:It's got to be personalized healthcare.
Speaker:And that's what we're moving towards.
Speaker:Some people,
Speaker:I estimate about twenty percent of the
Speaker:American public are in this movement.
Speaker:Eighty percent are just beginning to
Speaker:awaken
Speaker:during the pandemic and are now asking
Speaker:questions and beginning to learn more
Speaker:about these things.
Speaker:That's who I want to talk to.
Speaker:I want to talk to that eighty percent
Speaker:because that's where disease actually
Speaker:lives.
Speaker:Say that again.
Speaker:That's a big one.
Speaker:That's got juice there.
Speaker:Well,
Speaker:when I started looking as to why is
Speaker:it?
Speaker:And this happened to me when I was
Speaker:president of Parker.
Speaker:We had over four hundred employees.
Speaker:We went and, you know, insurance,
Speaker:as you know, is astronomical.
Speaker:So what we did is that we decided
Speaker:to do a proactive approach to health.
Speaker:and out of my four hundred employees plus,
Speaker:the same two or three percent that are
Speaker:not going to participate in any incentive
Speaker:that we give you.
Speaker:We'll pay for your workout, Jim.
Speaker:We'll pay for this.
Speaker:We'll pay for that.
Speaker:No, I'm not going to do it.
Speaker:They're the ones that cost us ninety
Speaker:percent of the cost.
Speaker:They're the ones that had the million
Speaker:dollar premiums that year because they got
Speaker:cancer, they got some heart disease,
Speaker:stroke, whatever.
Speaker:So
Speaker:And then I found out that over seventy
Speaker:percent of the personal bankruptcies in
Speaker:the United States in the last few years
Speaker:have been all related to health.
Speaker:That means that health can actually be or
Speaker:is the number one cause for personal
Speaker:bankruptcies in the country.
Speaker:So that's when I started saying to people,
Speaker:what is it going to take for you
Speaker:to actually make this a priority in your
Speaker:life?
Speaker:What is it going to take for you
Speaker:to start deciding
Speaker:whether I'm going to be healthy tomorrow
Speaker:than I was today,
Speaker:or I'm going to be unhealthier tomorrow
Speaker:than I'm going to be today.
Speaker:You have to make that choice.
Speaker:It's only you that can make that choice.
Speaker:And that's really where I believe that
Speaker:people need to.
Speaker:But I found that through my research that
Speaker:eighty percent of the chronic disease
Speaker:leaves.
Speaker:in that eighty percent of the public that
Speaker:do not subscribe to this paradigm of
Speaker:health and well-being,
Speaker:that does not subscribe in prevention
Speaker:rather than managing symptoms,
Speaker:that does not subscribe in,
Speaker:let me ask myself the question,
Speaker:where is this pain coming from?
Speaker:What could have caused that?
Speaker:What was I doing at that time?
Speaker:Did I eat something?
Speaker:Was I in an environment that maybe I
Speaker:was surrounded by something that could
Speaker:have caused this?
Speaker:Did I taste something new?
Speaker:Did I try,
Speaker:like when my mom calls me and she
Speaker:said, honey,
Speaker:the doctor recommended this pill in her
Speaker:eighties.
Speaker:And then,
Speaker:but now it causes other symptoms.
Speaker:And I said, mom,
Speaker:that's your body telling you that you are
Speaker:not at a level that can manage some
Speaker:of these toxicity in some of these drugs.
Speaker:We need to keep you on the natural
Speaker:perspective if possible,
Speaker:because at your age,
Speaker:your body can only handle so much.
Speaker:It's already so toxified over eighty years
Speaker:of experience.
Speaker:So the other thing that I found is
Speaker:that once you pass sixty,
Speaker:three to four chronic diseases per person.
Speaker:Out of that percentage of,
Speaker:seventy-six percent of the American public
Speaker:has chronic disease,
Speaker:if you're sixty and above,
Speaker:three or four diseases per person.
Speaker:That means you're going to have to take
Speaker:an average of seven to nine pills a
Speaker:day just to make it through that day,
Speaker:and that's not a way to live life.
Speaker:No.
Speaker:perfectly aligned with my mission of
Speaker:de-prescribing ten million unnecessary
Speaker:medications.
Speaker:Because what we're talking about today,
Speaker:we're not telling people to go stop
Speaker:medications.
Speaker:We're telling them to make them
Speaker:unnecessary.
Speaker:Lifestyle shifting,
Speaker:belief in your own energy and your own
Speaker:healing and your own sovereignty to make
Speaker:choices.
Speaker:is the doctor of the future boom right
Speaker:inside you you know and i love that
Speaker:you've been on this train for so long
Speaker:and you brought in a universal a universal
Speaker:theory of the pareto principle in which is
Speaker:which is never failed right it is it's
Speaker:the laws of the universe the eighty twenty
Speaker:rule eighty percent
Speaker:You know, and then that twenty percent,
Speaker:then it's flywheel, though.
Speaker:When we get into twenty seven percent and
Speaker:moving into that space, that's whole side.
Speaker:You said it in a little bit like
Speaker:we all know pharma is feeding all of
Speaker:this.
Speaker:But now everybody knows that pharma is
Speaker:just managing down the symptoms.
Speaker:So now when we start awareness.
Speaker:which you said and which I've said,
Speaker:awareness is first.
Speaker:Once you're aware, you can't be unaware,
Speaker:but you can choose to be unaware, right?
Speaker:There's the choice again.
Speaker:You know,
Speaker:it's so interesting you mentioned that.
Speaker:So to me,
Speaker:because I've trained so many thousands of
Speaker:doctors and I meet a lot of functional
Speaker:medicine doctors and I meet other doctors
Speaker:out there over the years,
Speaker:I can tell you that almost every doctor
Speaker:that I met has a good intention towards
Speaker:your body.
Speaker:towards your health.
Speaker:The problem is how they were trained.
Speaker:So a doctor is the only person,
Speaker:a medical doctor, that you should go to,
Speaker:an osteopath,
Speaker:that whoever prescribed the medication is
Speaker:not going to prescribe it any longer if
Speaker:you don't have those symptoms.
Speaker:but now if you go ahead and take
Speaker:your responsibility as an individual
Speaker:address the root causes that have been
Speaker:already identified and in my book i give
Speaker:it to you all the science one by
Speaker:one this is causing your diabetes this is
Speaker:causing your cause negative decline this
Speaker:is causing you know uh your weight uh
Speaker:gain all of this now all of a
Speaker:sudden you can take charge
Speaker:You go back to the doctor,
Speaker:they redo the blood markers,
Speaker:they redo the urine,
Speaker:and now they're going to say,
Speaker:whatever you're doing is working,
Speaker:and they're going to take you off some
Speaker:of that medication long term,
Speaker:that was prescribed long term.
Speaker:So that's the best approach.
Speaker:to you to reduce that many medications,
Speaker:the only way is not going to be
Speaker:for all of those doctors to become
Speaker:necessarily aware,
Speaker:because the training that they receive is
Speaker:already geared towards the pharmaceutical,
Speaker:and that's fine.
Speaker:And pharmaceutical has its place,
Speaker:and it's been amazing in so many areas.
Speaker:Problem is,
Speaker:it has not worked in chronic disease,
Speaker:which is ninety percent of the healthcare
Speaker:cost.
Speaker:That's what we need to address.
Speaker:And I believe the individuals,
Speaker:if they don't want to end up bankrupt,
Speaker:if they don't want to end up taking
Speaker:seven to nine pills after sixty,
Speaker:if they don't want to end up so
Speaker:symptomatic that they can enjoy the
Speaker:quality of life as they get older,
Speaker:then they have to take responsibility
Speaker:today.
Speaker:And that's really what I'm trying to do
Speaker:with this book is encourage them,
Speaker:empower them to realize that the answer
Speaker:has always been within them and not a
Speaker:third party out there.
Speaker:Bringing that mystical right into the
Speaker:science, right?
Speaker:The answer's always been there.
Speaker:It's always within you.

Speaker:you invest that time, energy,

Speaker:it will be the greatest investment that
