Speaker:

Hello, hello,

Speaker:

welcome to this episode of

Speaker:

Beyond the Pills.

Speaker:

I'm Josh Remini, pharmacist turned healer.

Speaker:

And today we're diving into

Speaker:

a powerful tool for

Speaker:

emotional and physical wellbeing,

Speaker:

EFT tapping.

Speaker:

And with a true expert in the field,

Speaker:

I'm thrilled to be joined

Speaker:

today with our guest, Ruthie Cohen-Joyner,

Speaker:

who's a certified

Speaker:

integrative wellness coach

Speaker:

and advanced EFT tapping practitioner.

Speaker:

Ruthie is committed to

Speaker:

cultivating inner peace and

Speaker:

radiating love and

Speaker:

compassion into the world.

Speaker:

Through EFT tapping, meditation,

Speaker:

and integrative coaching,

Speaker:

she guides others in

Speaker:

calming their nervous systems,

Speaker:

fostering self-care,

Speaker:

and creating emotional, spiritual,

Speaker:

and energetic, and physical wellbeing.

Speaker:

As inner peace grows,

Speaker:

it naturally ripples outwards.

Speaker:

bringing more harmony, connection,

Speaker:

and healing to the world.

Speaker:

So if you're ready to learn

Speaker:

more about beyond the pills

Speaker:

ways to overwhelm and

Speaker:

emotional blocks and

Speaker:

stepping into a more

Speaker:

empowered by version of yourself, well,

Speaker:

this conversation is for you.

Speaker:

So let's welcome Ruthie to the show.

Speaker:

Welcome.

Speaker:

Welcome.

Speaker:

Thank you, Josh.

Speaker:

I'm glad to be here.

Speaker:

Glad to have you.

Speaker:

I'm so glad that we were

Speaker:

able to connect in the ways

Speaker:

that we did because what

Speaker:

you're doing is really

Speaker:

powerful stuff in this world.

Speaker:

And especially as it relates

Speaker:

to the world of healing and

Speaker:

transformation,

Speaker:

which is where I love to be.

Speaker:

So have this sort of unique

Speaker:

approach to wellness.

Speaker:

Can you share a little bit

Speaker:

about your journey and what,

Speaker:

What led you to become an

Speaker:

integrative wellness coach

Speaker:

in this EFT tapping thing?

Speaker:

We'll get into what the tapping is,

Speaker:

but I want people to

Speaker:

understand a little bit of

Speaker:

your story first.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Thank you, Josh.

Speaker:

Well, I started out like you,

Speaker:

very traditional.

Speaker:

My undergrad degree in

Speaker:

nutrition is from UNC Greensboro.

Speaker:

And then my master's in

Speaker:

public health nutrition is

Speaker:

from Chapel Hill.

Speaker:

And I was a registered

Speaker:

dietitian for thirty seven years,

Speaker:

to be exact.

Speaker:

And along the way,

Speaker:

I just learned that for a lot of us,

Speaker:

eating and making choices

Speaker:

about food and exercise, et cetera,

Speaker:

is much more complicated

Speaker:

than knowing what's good

Speaker:

for you or not what's good for you.

Speaker:

That my personal issue,

Speaker:

I guess I would say, is emotional eating.

Speaker:

When my father passed away

Speaker:

unexpectedly in nineteen ninety,

Speaker:

I ate my way through the

Speaker:

grief and I see that as a

Speaker:

gift now and that it led me

Speaker:

into learning more about emotional eating,

Speaker:

which eventually led me to

Speaker:

EFT or emotional freedom techniques.

Speaker:

So I'm giving you the full name.

Speaker:

We shorten it to EFT tapping,

Speaker:

but when you hear this is

Speaker:

about emotional freedom,

Speaker:

it has a lot more meaning than just EFT.

Speaker:

So emotional freedom

Speaker:

techniques is pretty much

Speaker:

where I have focused since

Speaker:

twenty twelve and

Speaker:

and going deeper into it,

Speaker:

becoming a certified health

Speaker:

coach just last year.

Speaker:

So adding some new skills to

Speaker:

what I was doing with EFT.

Speaker:

And then an offshoot of EFT

Speaker:

called matrix re-imprinting

Speaker:

is something else I really love.

Speaker:

And maybe we'll get into that later.

Speaker:

We'll see.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

You already you already

Speaker:

dived into a few components

Speaker:

that I love talking about.

Speaker:

And and a lot of what we say

Speaker:

around here is like the

Speaker:

things we all know how to

Speaker:

eat right and exercise.

Speaker:

We know what good food is.

Speaker:

We know like good, healthy habits.

Speaker:

And yes,

Speaker:

it's so much more complex than the what.

Speaker:

Because when you get down to it,

Speaker:

how do you make meaningful change?

Speaker:

How do you understand this emotional side?

Speaker:

Because yes,

Speaker:

the relationship we have with

Speaker:

food is all stemmed around

Speaker:

our emotional imprints and

Speaker:

how we've been programmed

Speaker:

and in our ways.

Speaker:

And so I love that you blend

Speaker:

through your own experience.

Speaker:

We've talked about it almost

Speaker:

on every single episode

Speaker:

that we have our personal

Speaker:

journey that's attached to

Speaker:

why we help others.

Speaker:

And so-

Speaker:

you dove right into that.

Speaker:

Um, and, and,

Speaker:

and looking at this emotional freedom,

Speaker:

like just saying that makes it,

Speaker:

it resonates, right?

Speaker:

There's a,

Speaker:

there's a freedom to that

Speaker:

because I think we

Speaker:

sometimes feel locked in our,

Speaker:

our emotional patterns and

Speaker:

how our state of being is.

Speaker:

And so, um,

Speaker:

what what got you into let's

Speaker:

let's let's roll right into

Speaker:

the the let's call it the

Speaker:

eft tapping or the

Speaker:

emotional freedom um so for

Speaker:

listeners that are new to

Speaker:

that what exactly is eft

Speaker:

tapping and how does it

Speaker:

work on both emotional and

Speaker:

physiological levels

Speaker:

That's a big question, Josh.

Speaker:

So EFT, again,

Speaker:

I said it stands for

Speaker:

emotional freedom

Speaker:

techniques and that's plural.

Speaker:

Sometimes you'll see it just

Speaker:

singular technique,

Speaker:

but the reality is there's

Speaker:

many different techniques

Speaker:

to it is where we do

Speaker:

something that looks a little silly.

Speaker:

So I'll admit when I first saw it,

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

you gotta be kidding me that

Speaker:

this does something for you,

Speaker:

but you literally tap on

Speaker:

meridian endpoints and,

Speaker:

on the body and on the face.

Speaker:

And this has been proven to

Speaker:

lower your cortisol level

Speaker:

or your stress hormone and

Speaker:

who's not stressed these days, right?

Speaker:

So in lowering your stress hormone,

Speaker:

we get what we call the

Speaker:

three C's of tapping.

Speaker:

which is calm, clear, and create.

Speaker:

So we're able to calm the nervous system.

Speaker:

So important these days, right?

Speaker:

I mean,

Speaker:

we have our own personal lives and

Speaker:

then what's going on in the world.

Speaker:

There's just so much stress in the world.

Speaker:

So learning to deal with stress,

Speaker:

to calm your nervous system,

Speaker:

to regulate your nervous system is huge.

Speaker:

And EFT is one of the best modalities,

Speaker:

I guess,

Speaker:

that I have found for calming the

Speaker:

nervous system.

Speaker:

So when I work with people privately,

Speaker:

we talk about some other things.

Speaker:

Breathing obviously is a

Speaker:

quick one that you can take.

Speaker:

three conscious breaths and

Speaker:

calm yourself a little bit.

Speaker:

Orienting is another one,

Speaker:

which is just noticing your surroundings.

Speaker:

So sight, sound, et cetera.

Speaker:

But with tapping, you're going deeper.

Speaker:

So back to these three C's,

Speaker:

you calm the nervous system,

Speaker:

you clear whatever it is

Speaker:

you want to clear.

Speaker:

So it can be stress, anxiety, worry,

Speaker:

anxiety,

Speaker:

cravings for chocolate chip cookies.

Speaker:

It can be pain,

Speaker:

physical and emotional pain.

Speaker:

It's actually, what is the word,

Speaker:

approved by the Veterans

Speaker:

Administration for veterans

Speaker:

to work with PTSD.

Speaker:

And it is used in a lot of

Speaker:

different places, different ways.

Speaker:

For instance, there's a program called

Speaker:

tapping in the classroom.

Speaker:

So it's being brought into

Speaker:

schools to help children

Speaker:

learn to regulate their nervous systems.

Speaker:

It's being used in many

Speaker:

different ways these days.

Speaker:

And when I first got into it

Speaker:

in twenty twelve, nobody had heard of it.

Speaker:

I mean, it was just, you know,

Speaker:

not in the mainstream at all.

Speaker:

Today,

Speaker:

you can go to YouTube and you can

Speaker:

put in celebrities who use

Speaker:

EFT tapping and there's a

Speaker:

video of all the

Speaker:

celebrities that use this

Speaker:

on a regular basis.

Speaker:

For example,

Speaker:

Whoopi Goldberg killed her

Speaker:

fear of flying with EFT.

Speaker:

So there's a lot of younger ones,

Speaker:

but I don't know all of them.

Speaker:

Anyway, it's all good because.

Speaker:

You know, I, you know, I,

Speaker:

there's a lot of things

Speaker:

going on in this world,

Speaker:

but what that's good

Speaker:

because we're starting to

Speaker:

understand this.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I love that you brought in the

Speaker:

science of it.

Speaker:

Like we're,

Speaker:

we're actually moving from the

Speaker:

stress response system into

Speaker:

the sympathetic,

Speaker:

into the parasympathetic space,

Speaker:

rest and digest, right?

Speaker:

Calm, clear,

Speaker:

create is when we're in that

Speaker:

parasympathetic tone and

Speaker:

you're using these

Speaker:

acupressure meridians that

Speaker:

are all connected to the

Speaker:

vagus nerve and moving the

Speaker:

system down so if you want

Speaker:

to get geeky on the science

Speaker:

these are quick ways in order for us to

Speaker:

tap into the regulatory

Speaker:

physical component that's

Speaker:

actually moving into the

Speaker:

emotional and energetics of

Speaker:

it by just doing simple, easy techniques,

Speaker:

but in a targeted and systematic way.

Speaker:

So it's not like we're just

Speaker:

tapping everywhere.

Speaker:

It's just kind of like if

Speaker:

you've ever done acupuncture, right?

Speaker:

They're going in certain

Speaker:

places to do certain things

Speaker:

at certain times.

Speaker:

So I love that you brought that up.

Speaker:

how in the heck did it find you?

Speaker:

That's what I want to know.

Speaker:

Like how, and how did you, cause what I,

Speaker:

when I have all these

Speaker:

conversations with people of like,

Speaker:

I've been doing this for,

Speaker:

for years and nobody even

Speaker:

knew what I was talking

Speaker:

about when functional

Speaker:

medicine was out there or

Speaker:

whatever the thing is.

Speaker:

It's right.

Speaker:

I was like, I'm, I was at the table when,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

Well, this found you.

Speaker:

So how, how did it find you?

Speaker:

How did EFT find you?

Speaker:

I love this story because

Speaker:

this is how people connect.

Speaker:

We connect through our story.

Speaker:

Yeah, well, it was two thousand and nine,

Speaker:

actually.

Speaker:

Two thousand and nine.

Speaker:

I was playing on the

Speaker:

Internet and I found Joseph

Speaker:

Mercola's website,

Speaker:

who big name and looking at

Speaker:

the functional medicine stuff,

Speaker:

looking at the nutrition stuff.

Speaker:

And EFT was on his website.

Speaker:

And that's where I first experienced it,

Speaker:

first played with it.

Speaker:

And my first reaction was

Speaker:

this was ridiculous.

Speaker:

I have to admit that this

Speaker:

tapping on your body, your face.

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

how in the world does that help

Speaker:

with anything?

Speaker:

I'm going to fast forward to

Speaker:

twenty eleven when I found

Speaker:

the Tapping World Summit,

Speaker:

which a group called the Tapping Solution,

Speaker:

which is actually a family, Nick Ortner,

Speaker:

Jessica Ortner and Alex Ortner,

Speaker:

two brothers and a sister group.

Speaker:

started the tapping solution

Speaker:

and they do this world

Speaker:

summit every February.

Speaker:

And so it was the twenty

Speaker:

eleven tapping world summit

Speaker:

where I was actually doing

Speaker:

this with experts that I

Speaker:

started having significant

Speaker:

shifts and changes.

Speaker:

And I was like, whoa,

Speaker:

there really is something to this.

Speaker:

And so I found a trainer

Speaker:

here in the Charlotte,

Speaker:

North Carolina area,

Speaker:

who's somebody who's not training now,

Speaker:

but anyway.

Speaker:

And so I actually did the

Speaker:

training with her in twenty twelve.

Speaker:

But I found it by accident

Speaker:

or maybe by accident.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

On the Internet in two thousand and nine.

Speaker:

But it was three years before I was asked.

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

I'll say two years because twenty eleven,

Speaker:

I started using it for myself,

Speaker:

started learning about it for myself,

Speaker:

going to YouTube and finding videos,

Speaker:

etc.,

Speaker:

But once I trained in it,

Speaker:

I really got hooked.

Speaker:

And it's a little

Speaker:

embarrassing to tell you

Speaker:

how many trainings I've done in EFT.

Speaker:

It's

Speaker:

well into the double digits.

Speaker:

I'll just put it that way.

Speaker:

Well, that's the thing.

Speaker:

When something strikes you,

Speaker:

I don't believe there's any

Speaker:

accidents in this world.

Speaker:

But we also don't know the

Speaker:

divine timing of when those things unfold,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

Just searching the internet

Speaker:

and going onto some site

Speaker:

because Mercola has been out for a while.

Speaker:

So there's some authority into that.

Speaker:

And all of a sudden it's like, oh,

Speaker:

let me see if that thing does.

Speaker:

And then all of a sudden it

Speaker:

one little thing happened to

Speaker:

become your thing.

Speaker:

And over the last, you know,

Speaker:

ten to fifteen years, you're like,

Speaker:

this is where I need to be.

Speaker:

And it's like a hundred

Speaker:

percent of the time,

Speaker:

which is so validating to all this stuff,

Speaker:

is like,

Speaker:

We use it on ourselves.

Speaker:

We see a great result through experience,

Speaker:

not through this whole

Speaker:

intellectual I'm reading about it.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

That part is fine,

Speaker:

but it's working it through

Speaker:

your experience that says, oh,

Speaker:

like you said, it's like, oh,

Speaker:

this feels weird.

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

And then all of a sudden

Speaker:

it's like there was some

Speaker:

point that clicked.

Speaker:

You had that aha is like

Speaker:

there is something to this here.

Speaker:

Let me explore this further.

Speaker:

That's how lifestyle change works.

Speaker:

That's how transformation works, right?

Speaker:

It's not getting to the end result.

Speaker:

It's like going to that next

Speaker:

step and saying, being curious,

Speaker:

I'd like to put that into the seas,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

Being curious and saying, all right, maybe,

Speaker:

maybe this is something.

Speaker:

And then all of a sudden

Speaker:

just allowing it to unfold, right?

Speaker:

and moving it into that space.

Speaker:

So we're gonna do a live demonstration.

Speaker:

Cause you told me like,

Speaker:

I'm not going on until

Speaker:

unless we can tell them,

Speaker:

we could show the listeners

Speaker:

how this thing works,

Speaker:

because this is a perfect

Speaker:

example of that and what we can be doing.

Speaker:

But before we get into that, can you,

Speaker:

share share a couple do you

Speaker:

have any stories of

Speaker:

transformation or things

Speaker:

where somebody came to you

Speaker:

with this you did a few

Speaker:

things here and then their

Speaker:

their outcome was why I

Speaker:

want to I want people to

Speaker:

understand like the

Speaker:

practical applications of

Speaker:

what this is because

Speaker:

sometimes we bundle the

Speaker:

word stress and it becomes like

Speaker:

a numbing word to us.

Speaker:

Like we all know our stress.

Speaker:

Seventy percent of us are in

Speaker:

fight or flight most of the time, right?

Speaker:

We're not in rest and digest.

Speaker:

What I love telling people, though,

Speaker:

is you're in one or the other.

Speaker:

You can't be in both.

Speaker:

You're either in a restful,

Speaker:

parasympathetic state where

Speaker:

you can digest and clear

Speaker:

your mind and detoxify and heal,

Speaker:

or you're in fight or flight.

Speaker:

And the body doesn't know if

Speaker:

you're running from a tiger or

Speaker:

or if you're stuck in traffic,

Speaker:

it's the same mechanism.

Speaker:

Fourteen hundred chemical

Speaker:

reactions in less than a second happen.

Speaker:

So we know we're in the stressful world.

Speaker:

We know that we're anxiety.

Speaker:

We know we have all these things.

Speaker:

But give us, like,

Speaker:

I just want to know a little bit of, like,

Speaker:

what's the practicality of

Speaker:

what you're talking about here?

Speaker:

Like, going from here to here,

Speaker:

is it in the acute moment?

Speaker:

Are we doing this?

Speaker:

I kind of know the answer.

Speaker:

But, like, I want you to say, like,

Speaker:

are we doing this so we can

Speaker:

get out of the state?

Speaker:

Or are we doing this to shift a new reset?

Speaker:

Okay,

Speaker:

so you've asked me several things at

Speaker:

once.

Speaker:

I'm going to back up for a moment.

Speaker:

Unpack it for me.

Speaker:

I'm going to throw it out

Speaker:

there and then see what sticks.

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

you mentioned curiosity and one of my

Speaker:

favorite things.

Speaker:

So when we're tapping around these points,

Speaker:

we say phrases and we start

Speaker:

with what we call truth telling,

Speaker:

which is we start with I'm

Speaker:

so stressed or I'm so angry

Speaker:

or I'm so hurt or whatever.

Speaker:

my back's hurting or, you know, whatever.

Speaker:

We start with the truth and

Speaker:

then we work toward where we want to go.

Speaker:

And so one of the things I

Speaker:

like to say when I'm doing

Speaker:

the tapping is I'm choosing

Speaker:

to be curious and kind with myself.

Speaker:

because a lot of times we judge ourselves,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

We're very hard on ourselves.

Speaker:

We have that inner critic

Speaker:

that's alive and well in

Speaker:

our heads all the time.

Speaker:

So learning to calm that

Speaker:

voice so that we're able to

Speaker:

calm ourselves is a huge thing.

Speaker:

But before we get into

Speaker:

getting to demos and I'll

Speaker:

give you an example,

Speaker:

I do have some statistics

Speaker:

pull up that I want to share.

Speaker:

And going back to the cortisol level,

Speaker:

the stress hormone.

Speaker:

So the original study, I believe,

Speaker:

was done around twenty twelve,

Speaker:

twenty thirteen,

Speaker:

and then it was replicated

Speaker:

in twenty nineteen again.

Speaker:

if I have my years right,

Speaker:

where they showed that the

Speaker:

cortisol level with tapping

Speaker:

drops by about thirty seven percent.

Speaker:

So a huge shift in cortisol.

Speaker:

I'm going to give you some

Speaker:

other statistics.

Speaker:

These were compiled by.

Speaker:

Peta Stapleton,

Speaker:

and she is an EFT trainer

Speaker:

and a psychologist at Bond

Speaker:

University in Queensland, Australia.

Speaker:

So these are just some

Speaker:

statistics that have been compiled.

Speaker:

So one is it is proven to

Speaker:

lower pain by fifty seven percent.

Speaker:

It is proven to lower

Speaker:

anxiety by forty percent.

Speaker:

Depression decreased by

Speaker:

thirty five percent.

Speaker:

Now, again,

Speaker:

this is a compilation of

Speaker:

different studies.

Speaker:

So PTSD symptoms decreased

Speaker:

by thirty two percent.

Speaker:

Food cravings decreased by

Speaker:

seventy four percent.

Speaker:

And that's one of Peta

Speaker:

Stapleton's main areas that

Speaker:

she focuses in.

Speaker:

She actually did fMRI

Speaker:

studies on the brain where

Speaker:

they could look at how the

Speaker:

brain lit up with certain

Speaker:

foods before doing tapping

Speaker:

and certain foods afterwards.

Speaker:

So that's one she's gone

Speaker:

more in depth with.

Speaker:

lowers blood pressure by eight percent,

Speaker:

increases happiness by

Speaker:

thirty one percent.

Speaker:

And an interesting one,

Speaker:

I believe this was compiled

Speaker:

around the pandemic,

Speaker:

increase in immune system

Speaker:

markers by one hundred and

Speaker:

thirteen percent.

Speaker:

So when you look at those

Speaker:

kind of statistics,

Speaker:

it gets your attention.

Speaker:

It makes you realize there

Speaker:

really is something to this.

Speaker:

So you asked me for specifics.

Speaker:

So I had a client that I'm

Speaker:

going to call Susan, not her real name,

Speaker:

who when she first came to me,

Speaker:

she was very anxious, anxiety,

Speaker:

generalized anxiety on a regular basis.

Speaker:

And I don't remember now if

Speaker:

she was on medication at the time or not.

Speaker:

but she didn't wanna be on medication.

Speaker:

She wanted to learn how to

Speaker:

deal with it for herself.

Speaker:

And so we used a scale of zero to ten.

Speaker:

How anxious are you in this moment?

Speaker:

Nine, ten.

Speaker:

I mean, always it was eight, nine,

Speaker:

ten for her.

Speaker:

She didn't function below eight, nine,

Speaker:

ten.

Speaker:

So we started doing some

Speaker:

tapping and you asked me,

Speaker:

I don't remember exactly

Speaker:

how you worded it, but when we do EFT,

Speaker:

we are working on the daily

Speaker:

accumulated stresses.

Speaker:

So we are working in the present,

Speaker:

but we're also going into the past.

Speaker:

We're also working on where

Speaker:

this came from.

Speaker:

So it's both, it's both and,

Speaker:

and the future, you know,

Speaker:

how do you want to be in the future?

Speaker:

So it's a little bit of both.

Speaker:

But for her, we worked on the current, the,

Speaker:

you know, the today, the present.

Speaker:

But we also went into the

Speaker:

past and the reasons why

Speaker:

she was so anxious in the first place.

Speaker:

She was able to get where

Speaker:

her normal functioning was

Speaker:

around one to three instead

Speaker:

of this eight to ten all the time.

Speaker:

where it was about one to

Speaker:

three on a regular basis.

Speaker:

And she actually decided to

Speaker:

go to do EFT training to, you know,

Speaker:

I actually lost touch with her.

Speaker:

So I don't know if she ever

Speaker:

used it with other people

Speaker:

or if she just used it with herself,

Speaker:

but she went to a trainer

Speaker:

and did training because

Speaker:

she found such a

Speaker:

significant shift for her.

Speaker:

I've also had one client who

Speaker:

very low self-esteem,

Speaker:

very hard time functioning in the world.

Speaker:

And this was actually during the pandemic.

Speaker:

And she had gotten so shut

Speaker:

down and so into her own

Speaker:

home that she hardly left.

Speaker:

So it wasn't really that she had,

Speaker:

what is that one?

Speaker:

What's the phobia where you

Speaker:

don't leave your house?

Speaker:

I forgot the name of it.

Speaker:

Agoraphobia, yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah, agoraphobia.

Speaker:

It wasn't really that.

Speaker:

It was just the way she felt

Speaker:

about herself.

Speaker:

She just didn't really want

Speaker:

to go out in the world.

Speaker:

There was no, there was no...

Speaker:

I call it like that drive to motivate,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

It's like you get stuck in that space.

Speaker:

We all get there, right?

Speaker:

And then it gets worse and

Speaker:

worse because there's that,

Speaker:

you go down the roll, right?

Speaker:

And so that's cool.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So for her,

Speaker:

we were able to make... What

Speaker:

did you do with her?

Speaker:

So she's actually been a long...

Speaker:

she's actually been a long-term client.

Speaker:

We've worked together for a couple years.

Speaker:

Most people, I'll just let you know,

Speaker:

it's much shorter term than most therapy,

Speaker:

by the way.

Speaker:

Usually most people,

Speaker:

three to six months is as

Speaker:

long as I work with them.

Speaker:

But she stayed with me for a couple years.

Speaker:

And now she couldn't even

Speaker:

imagine being in a relationship.

Speaker:

She's been in a relationship

Speaker:

now for eight months or so.

Speaker:

feeling so much better,

Speaker:

getting out in the world, riding her bike,

Speaker:

just doing a lot of things

Speaker:

that she just didn't have the confidence,

Speaker:

the desire or whatever to do.

Speaker:

But we've worked through so

Speaker:

much of her childhood stuff

Speaker:

and feeling rejected by her

Speaker:

father who left her mom, you know,

Speaker:

all kinds of divorces, you know,

Speaker:

a big thing and how people see themselves,

Speaker:

excuse me.

Speaker:

So huge shift for her and

Speaker:

how she lives her life.

Speaker:

And she, and this was done before,

Speaker:

just through EFT tapping.

Speaker:

So we're taking, you know,

Speaker:

I want people to understand

Speaker:

the essence because what

Speaker:

we're really talking about

Speaker:

is transforming, right?

Speaker:

We're moving from this state of, you know,

Speaker:

whether it's anxiety, depression,

Speaker:

and it makes good sense, right?

Speaker:

If you can get the body

Speaker:

out of fight or flight and

Speaker:

reduce that cortisol levels,

Speaker:

thirty seven percent is a big deal,

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

We don't have many

Speaker:

nutraceuticals that will work like that.

Speaker:

We don't have many other techniques.

Speaker:

But if you look at reducing

Speaker:

the stress levels,

Speaker:

moving people into that

Speaker:

rest and digest parasympathetic state.

Speaker:

And if you get there,

Speaker:

thirty seven percent of

Speaker:

cortisol like going down of pain, anxiety,

Speaker:

depression, PTSD, food cravings,

Speaker:

blood pressure.

Speaker:

And yes, immune system.

Speaker:

This is why meditators have

Speaker:

higher immune systems.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

These are why we're studying.

Speaker:

I would just say, guys,

Speaker:

it's no longer woo.

Speaker:

Like we're doing little

Speaker:

simple techniques that have

Speaker:

profound results.

Speaker:

If you take the percentages that you said,

Speaker:

yes,

Speaker:

it's one study and it's not one study.

Speaker:

It was grouped.

Speaker:

It was peer reviewed.

Speaker:

Like these are the things

Speaker:

that are happening.

Speaker:

But if you took these

Speaker:

statistics and you say,

Speaker:

what drug does all of this, right?

Speaker:

If there was a drug that

Speaker:

could reduce pain by fifty

Speaker:

seven percent and anxiety

Speaker:

by forty and depression by

Speaker:

thirty five and PTSD by thirty two,

Speaker:

reducing food cravings by

Speaker:

seventy four percent,

Speaker:

who doesn't have a food craving?

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

From an emotional perspective,

Speaker:

it improve your immune

Speaker:

system by one hundred thirteen percent.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

pharma could be marketing this drug

Speaker:

for thousands of dollars

Speaker:

per pill because no drug

Speaker:

will hit those statistics.

Speaker:

And yet here we are.

Speaker:

You go to someone that's able to teach it,

Speaker:

and then you do these

Speaker:

techniques in a simplified way, right?

Speaker:

I don't want to overcomplicate it.

Speaker:

Simple.

Speaker:

There's, this is not invasive.

Speaker:

There's no harm being done

Speaker:

from the perspective of a

Speaker:

side effect of tapping.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And you're getting really good results.

Speaker:

Like I'm glad you brought up

Speaker:

these statistics because that's how our,

Speaker:

our

Speaker:

right brain approach needs

Speaker:

to look at this stuff.

Speaker:

Like it's gotta be

Speaker:

analytical if it doesn't work this way,

Speaker:

but it's like, Hey,

Speaker:

if I could do this and also

Speaker:

not have a complicated,

Speaker:

complex side effect profile, like, wow,

Speaker:

like, holy moly, we're in a good place.

Speaker:

So I, I,

Speaker:

I just love the simplicity of

Speaker:

these types of things where

Speaker:

it's got such a good impact and

Speaker:

And it doesn't take a ton of

Speaker:

effort compared to take

Speaker:

five medications plus, you know,

Speaker:

how many times a day,

Speaker:

how often do people do this?

Speaker:

Like, what's the session?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I want to know these things.

Speaker:

I can't.

Speaker:

Yeah, we're breaking up a little bit,

Speaker:

so I didn't catch everything you said,

Speaker:

but I think you're asking how often.

Speaker:

Is that right?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I know we're breaking up here.

Speaker:

I have no idea how my

Speaker:

connection is on the phone.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

I was wondering if it was mine or yours.

Speaker:

So I apologize if it's mine.

Speaker:

Well, I will, you know, it varies.

Speaker:

It varies on what you're using it for,

Speaker:

what the purpose is.

Speaker:

But I will say that Dawson Church,

Speaker:

who is a big name in the EFT world,

Speaker:

excuse me,

Speaker:

you mentioned meditation earlier.

Speaker:

He talks about meditation

Speaker:

being kind of the baseline

Speaker:

of calming your nervous

Speaker:

system and all the

Speaker:

beautiful things meditation does.

Speaker:

I'm also a follower of Joe Dispenza,

Speaker:

a big name in the meditation world.

Speaker:

So yeah.

Speaker:

But he talks about using

Speaker:

meditation as kind of your

Speaker:

baseline and then EFT to

Speaker:

deal with those daily

Speaker:

accumulated stresses.

Speaker:

So when I teach people how

Speaker:

to do this for themselves,

Speaker:

which is what we're going

Speaker:

to do in a minute,

Speaker:

I use the analogy of your dental health.

Speaker:

meaning everybody brushes

Speaker:

their teeth at home or

Speaker:

hopefully everybody brushes

Speaker:

their teeth at home.

Speaker:

Maybe people floss, maybe they don't.

Speaker:

We're not going to get into that,

Speaker:

but you have your own

Speaker:

dental care routine that

Speaker:

you do for yourself.

Speaker:

And then if you've got pain,

Speaker:

you go to a dentist, you, you know,

Speaker:

to have that taken care of.

Speaker:

I see EFT the same way,

Speaker:

meaning that you use it for

Speaker:

yourself on a regular basis and,

Speaker:

And Steve Wells,

Speaker:

who is an EFT practitioner in Australia,

Speaker:

talks about energy toning.

Speaker:

And that means using tapping

Speaker:

just on a regular basis

Speaker:

every day just to calm your

Speaker:

nervous system.

Speaker:

So he talks about he does it

Speaker:

when he walks his dog.

Speaker:

He talks about his wife does

Speaker:

it when she's at stoplights,

Speaker:

when she's driving to work.

Speaker:

So wherever you can just

Speaker:

bring it into your life on

Speaker:

a regular basis,

Speaker:

just to calm your nervous

Speaker:

system is beautiful.

Speaker:

But then when you decide to

Speaker:

work with a practitioner,

Speaker:

it's when you want to do healing work,

Speaker:

deeper healing work.

Speaker:

So when I'm working with individuals,

Speaker:

we're going into childhood trauma.

Speaker:

We're going into all kinds

Speaker:

of things that need healing

Speaker:

work on beyond what you

Speaker:

would do for yourself on a daily basis.

Speaker:

So it varies on what the

Speaker:

purpose is and how much you would do it.

Speaker:

But yeah.

Speaker:

Are you interested in trying?

Speaker:

No,

Speaker:

I've used the same analogy for

Speaker:

meditation versus like a

Speaker:

Joe Dispenza retreat, right?

Speaker:

And I'm a big fan of Dispenza as well.

Speaker:

And that's why we connect, right?

Speaker:

They just happen to be like that.

Speaker:

It's like I'm learning to

Speaker:

use his stuff in corporate

Speaker:

settings and teaching people that.

Speaker:

But I say the same thing.

Speaker:

It's like you brush your teeth every day,

Speaker:

but every three to six months or so,

Speaker:

you need a deep cleaning.

Speaker:

That's why you go to the

Speaker:

dentist to do your deep cleaning.

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

I go to dispenser retreats to do my

Speaker:

deep work, right?

Speaker:

I go do these things.

Speaker:

things where I go to costa

Speaker:

rica and do a plant

Speaker:

medicine retreat because I

Speaker:

want to do my deep stuff my

Speaker:

deep work techniques to do on summer

Speaker:

Jeremy?

Speaker:

Lost your picture for a minute.

Speaker:

Now you're coming back in.

Speaker:

I'm just going to check and

Speaker:

make sure nobody's on the

Speaker:

internet in my house.

Speaker:

That's weird.

Speaker:

I'm not sure why my internet

Speaker:

is low because...

Speaker:

because I'm hardwired into

Speaker:

the whole system.

Speaker:

So work on it.

Speaker:

Hang on one second.

Speaker:

I'm just telling everybody

Speaker:

to get off the internet in

Speaker:

case anybody's on it here.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So are you ready to jump

Speaker:

into doing some tapping together?

Speaker:

We're back.

Speaker:

Um, something with the internet.

Speaker:

I would, I would love to, I love, I, I,

Speaker:

I always do the, I always teach the,

Speaker:

the do me first principle when I,

Speaker:

when I mentor professionals in wellness.

Speaker:

So let's, let's dive in.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So like a kid,

Speaker:

I treat me like I don't know anything.

Speaker:

OK,

Speaker:

so first I want to show you the tapping

Speaker:

points and then we're going

Speaker:

to get into actually doing it.

Speaker:

So the first point that

Speaker:

we'll be using today is the

Speaker:

side of the hand.

Speaker:

So I'm just going to ask you

Speaker:

to start doing this with me.

Speaker:

So this is under the pinky finger.

Speaker:

We're gently tapping with

Speaker:

three or four fingers.

Speaker:

And when we're here,

Speaker:

we're going to do what's

Speaker:

called a set up phrase or

Speaker:

balancing statement.

Speaker:

So I'll get into, well,

Speaker:

let me explain what that is.

Speaker:

That is where we're going to

Speaker:

tell the truth,

Speaker:

even though I'm so stressed,

Speaker:

even though I'm anxious,

Speaker:

even though I'm mad at my brother,

Speaker:

even though my back's hurting,

Speaker:

whatever it is.

Speaker:

And then you say something

Speaker:

positive right here.

Speaker:

And right now I'm okay.

Speaker:

Or I'm choosing to be

Speaker:

curious and kind with myself.

Speaker:

So I'll lead you through it.

Speaker:

You'll be repeating after me,

Speaker:

like we're playing Simon Says.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So we're going to do first

Speaker:

this side of the page.

Speaker:

Say that again.

Speaker:

I'm sorry.

Speaker:

How hard,

Speaker:

how hard does one tap when

Speaker:

they're tapping?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Just gently tapping.

Speaker:

So I have tell people when

Speaker:

you're really angry,

Speaker:

be careful that you're not banging.

Speaker:

You know, you don't,

Speaker:

you don't want bruises.

Speaker:

You don't want to hurt yourself.

Speaker:

You just gently tapping.

Speaker:

So the next point that I

Speaker:

like to use is the eyebrow point.

Speaker:

Some people start on the top of the head.

Speaker:

I end on the top of the head.

Speaker:

I'm telling you that because

Speaker:

if you go to YouTube and by the way,

Speaker:

there are hundreds of YouTube channels.

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

I don't know if there's hundreds of

Speaker:

different channels,

Speaker:

but I have my own EFT

Speaker:

channel on YouTube and

Speaker:

there are many more.

Speaker:

So there are actually thousands of videos.

Speaker:

If you go there,

Speaker:

if you see somebody start

Speaker:

on the top of the head, fine,

Speaker:

doesn't matter.

Speaker:

But we're going to take two

Speaker:

fingers and gently tap

Speaker:

between the eyebrow points.

Speaker:

And when we do this,

Speaker:

we're going to do a reminder phrase.

Speaker:

And again,

Speaker:

I'm going to lead you through

Speaker:

this right now.

Speaker:

I'm just showing you the points.

Speaker:

The next one is the side of the eye.

Speaker:

And you're just gently

Speaker:

tapping on the bone on the

Speaker:

side of the eye.

Speaker:

So it's not way back on the temple.

Speaker:

It's right on the side of the eye.

Speaker:

The next one is under the eye.

Speaker:

So those are the three eye points.

Speaker:

We call it the eyebrow side

Speaker:

of the eye and under the eye.

Speaker:

The next one is under the nose.

Speaker:

The next one is called the chin,

Speaker:

but it's actually the

Speaker:

indention between the lip and the chin.

Speaker:

Our next point, which is my favorite one,

Speaker:

let me get up a little

Speaker:

higher is you find your

Speaker:

collarbone points and then

Speaker:

you go down about an inch

Speaker:

and out about an inch so

Speaker:

you're a little bit closer

Speaker:

to the shoulder yep you got it josh.

Speaker:

And by the way,

Speaker:

you can do this one handed or two.

Speaker:

I'm just showing you two hands right now.

Speaker:

The next point is called the

Speaker:

underarm point.

Speaker:

So for the ladies,

Speaker:

that's down at the bottom

Speaker:

of the bra line or where

Speaker:

you would wear a heart monitor.

Speaker:

So it's about five or six inches down.

Speaker:

Get a little higher.

Speaker:

So right in here.

Speaker:

And you can do what you're doing,

Speaker:

which is called cross body

Speaker:

or what I'm doing,

Speaker:

which is the same side of

Speaker:

the body either way.

Speaker:

And then the last point is

Speaker:

the top of the head.

Speaker:

So there are some others that people use,

Speaker:

but those are the ones

Speaker:

we're going to use today.

Speaker:

That's nine points.

Speaker:

That's a lot to keep up with, right?

Speaker:

So the side of the hand,

Speaker:

the three around the eye, under the nose,

Speaker:

chin, collarbone, under the arm,

Speaker:

top of the head.

Speaker:

Don't worry,

Speaker:

I'm going to say them for you.

Speaker:

I think we could do this with like,

Speaker:

have you ever done a class

Speaker:

with like kids where it's

Speaker:

almost like Simon said,

Speaker:

being done in like a classroom setting,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

I'm going to try this with my girls.

Speaker:

Oh yeah.

Speaker:

How old are your girls?

Speaker:

Just turned nine and the

Speaker:

other one will be turning eleven.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Great.

Speaker:

As a matter of fact, there is a book.

Speaker:

So I mentioned the Tapping

Speaker:

Solution with the Ortners earlier.

Speaker:

They wrote several books.

Speaker:

There's one just called The

Speaker:

Tapping Solution.

Speaker:

There's one that's for teenage girls,

Speaker:

and I'm not remembering the

Speaker:

title right now.

Speaker:

I'd have to look over here.

Speaker:

I know it's pink.

Speaker:

I'd have to find it.

Speaker:

But anyway,

Speaker:

then there's also books for children,

Speaker:

younger one.

Speaker:

There's one called...

Speaker:

gorilla thumps and it's over here too.

Speaker:

I'd have to look it up, but it's,

Speaker:

it's cute when you said

Speaker:

that where you kind of, you know,

Speaker:

sound like a monkey for little kids.

Speaker:

So yeah,

Speaker:

I had a friend that taught it in

Speaker:

kindergarten,

Speaker:

taught kindergartners and

Speaker:

that's how she taught it with them.

Speaker:

So, yeah.

Speaker:

OK, so the points.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

The next thing I want to ask

Speaker:

you is I want you to tell

Speaker:

me what you are feeling

Speaker:

emotionally right now.

Speaker:

So it's a little bit of a

Speaker:

challenge when you're doing

Speaker:

it demo wise because people

Speaker:

aren't always stressed, but stressed,

Speaker:

angry, worried, you know,

Speaker:

anything that you may have going on.

Speaker:

And I'll just use stress if

Speaker:

you can't think of anything.

Speaker:

No, this is good.

Speaker:

I agree.

Speaker:

I'm totally vulnerable, right?

Speaker:

This is how it works in the day and age.

Speaker:

No,

Speaker:

we're doing a lot with the shift of our

Speaker:

business and a lot of

Speaker:

things going on in different ways.

Speaker:

I would say a little anxious

Speaker:

and frustrated.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So I'm going to ask you to give me numbers,

Speaker:

zero to ten, ten being the highest,

Speaker:

how anxious you feel in

Speaker:

this moment when you think

Speaker:

about business stuff.

Speaker:

I'm going to say five.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And how frustrated you feel

Speaker:

in this moment with what's going on?

Speaker:

This morning, very different.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I would say,

Speaker:

because this stuff lights me up,

Speaker:

like I'm probably at a,

Speaker:

let's say at a sixth.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So I like to start with the

Speaker:

one that's the higher.

Speaker:

So we're going to start with

Speaker:

frustration instead of anxious.

Speaker:

But a lot of times when you work on one,

Speaker:

the other one goes down anyway.

Speaker:

So we're going to do one round with that.

Speaker:

And then I'm going to ask

Speaker:

you another question about it.

Speaker:

So I'm just going to ask you

Speaker:

to tap with me and repeat after me.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So, actually,

Speaker:

I want to ask one more wording.

Speaker:

I said business stuff.

Speaker:

What is the right word?

Speaker:

Growing your business,

Speaker:

when you say frustrated with,

Speaker:

what would you say?

Speaker:

I think it's just more around the lines of,

Speaker:

yeah, it's the...

Speaker:

the not knowing the evolution.

Speaker:

It's just, we're right in the mix.

Speaker:

So maybe, yeah.

Speaker:

Evolving, evolving the business.

Speaker:

Evolving the business.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

The reason I ask is your

Speaker:

words are more powerful than mine.

Speaker:

So if I say something wrong,

Speaker:

like if I say it makes me

Speaker:

frustrated and you're like, no,

Speaker:

it makes me angry.

Speaker:

Now, you know,

Speaker:

if it shifts while we're doing it,

Speaker:

tell me,

Speaker:

interrupt me and let's shift it

Speaker:

to where you are.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So repeating after me,

Speaker:

coming to the side of the hand,

Speaker:

gently tapping.

Speaker:

So even though I'm feeling frustrated.

Speaker:

Even though I'm feeling frustrated.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

With everything going on

Speaker:

with evolving the business.

Speaker:

With everything going on

Speaker:

with evolving the business.

Speaker:

Right here and right now, I'm okay.

Speaker:

Right here and right now, I'm okay.

Speaker:

So even though I'm feeling

Speaker:

frustrated and anxious...

Speaker:

Even though I'm feeling

Speaker:

frustrated and anxious...

Speaker:

With not knowing where

Speaker:

we're going... With not

Speaker:

knowing where we're

Speaker:

going... We're right in the mix.

Speaker:

We're right in the mix.

Speaker:

Right here and right now, I'm okay.

Speaker:

Right here and right now, I'm okay.

Speaker:

So even though I'm feeling

Speaker:

frustrated and anxious...

Speaker:

Even though I'm feeling

Speaker:

frustrated and anxious.

Speaker:

With everything going on

Speaker:

with evolving the business.

Speaker:

With everything going on

Speaker:

with evolving the business.

Speaker:

I'm open to the possibility.

Speaker:

I'm open to the possibility.

Speaker:

That I can release and let

Speaker:

some of this go.

Speaker:

That I can release and let

Speaker:

some of this go.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

We're going to switch to the

Speaker:

eyebrow point.

Speaker:

Going to the eyebrow.

Speaker:

So frustrated.

Speaker:

So frustrated.

Speaker:

I am so frustrated.

Speaker:

Side of the eye.

Speaker:

So frustrated with everything going on.

Speaker:

So frustrated with everything going on.

Speaker:

Under the eye.

Speaker:

We're right in the mix.

Speaker:

We're right in the mix.

Speaker:

Under the nose.

Speaker:

So many unknowns.

Speaker:

So many unknowns.

Speaker:

Chin.

Speaker:

We're evolving the business.

Speaker:

We're evolving the business.

Speaker:

And there's some frustration in this.

Speaker:

And there's some frustration in this.

Speaker:

Collarbone.

Speaker:

I'm feeling frustrated and anxious.

Speaker:

I'm feeling frustrated and anxious.

Speaker:

Under the arm.

Speaker:

And I'm choosing to slow down.

Speaker:

And I'm choosing to slow down.

Speaker:

And just be curious and kind with myself.

Speaker:

And just be curious and kind with myself.

Speaker:

Top of the head.

Speaker:

And be open to new possibilities.

Speaker:

And be open to new possibilities.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

I'm going to ask you to stop

Speaker:

tapping for a moment.

Speaker:

Take a sip of whatever you're drinking.

Speaker:

And I'm going to ask you to

Speaker:

tune into your body.

Speaker:

Where do you notice that

Speaker:

you're carrying frustration

Speaker:

and anxiety in your body?

Speaker:

Oh,

Speaker:

this is my embodiment work I'm working

Speaker:

on.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

The analytical guys in us

Speaker:

have a hard time centering in the body.

Speaker:

I think here, this is where I know it is.

Speaker:

So my know is right here.

Speaker:

So shoulder and which side is that?

Speaker:

I get confused with backwards.

Speaker:

Right shoulder.

Speaker:

Right shoulder.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Now would you say right

Speaker:

shoulder and neck or just shoulder?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Right shoulder and neck.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Shoulder and neck.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So we're going to do a

Speaker:

little more tapping and

Speaker:

then we're going to check

Speaker:

back in on how you're doing.

Speaker:

So go back to the side of the hand.

Speaker:

We're just going to do one

Speaker:

time on the side of the hand this time.

Speaker:

Excuse me.

Speaker:

So even though I'm feeling

Speaker:

frustrated and anxious.

Speaker:

Even though I'm feeling

Speaker:

frustrated and anxious.

Speaker:

And I'm carrying it in my

Speaker:

right shoulder and neck.

Speaker:

And I'm carrying it in my

Speaker:

right shoulder and neck.

Speaker:

I'm choosing to release and

Speaker:

let go what I can today.

Speaker:

I'm choosing to release and

Speaker:

let go what I can today.

Speaker:

All right, go into the eyebrow.

Speaker:

I still have this

Speaker:

frustration and anxiousness.

Speaker:

I still have this

Speaker:

frustration and anxiousness.

Speaker:

Side of the eye,

Speaker:

and I'm carrying it in my

Speaker:

right shoulder and neck.

Speaker:

And I'm carrying it in my

Speaker:

right shoulder and neck.

Speaker:

Under the eye, all this frustration.

Speaker:

All this frustration.

Speaker:

Under the nose, we're right in the mix.

Speaker:

We're right in the mix.

Speaker:

Chin, and I'm carrying it in my body.

Speaker:

I'm carrying it in my body.

Speaker:

Collarbone,

Speaker:

I'm just acknowledging what I'm feeling.

Speaker:

I'm just acknowledging what I'm feeling.

Speaker:

Under the arm,

Speaker:

and I'm choosing to be

Speaker:

curious and patient with myself.

Speaker:

And I'm choosing to be

Speaker:

curious and patient with myself.

Speaker:

Top of the head.

Speaker:

And I'm open to releasing

Speaker:

and letting this go.

Speaker:

And I'm open to releasing

Speaker:

and letting this go.

Speaker:

All right, Josh,

Speaker:

I'm going to ask you to

Speaker:

stop tapping and just tune

Speaker:

back in and notice what you notice.

Speaker:

So if you go ahead.

Speaker:

I feel like.

Speaker:

I definitely feel like a de-escalation.

Speaker:

Like there's this sense of

Speaker:

relaxation that I get

Speaker:

almost when I've been meditating.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Not like in this like,

Speaker:

because I wasn't really in a, you know,

Speaker:

I wasn't in a really like,

Speaker:

like really crazy energetic space,

Speaker:

but it was like, I'm feeling like,

Speaker:

I'm feeling grounded.

Speaker:

I think that might be the

Speaker:

word I'm looking for.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

What number would you give

Speaker:

frustration now?

Speaker:

It's not really top of mind present.

Speaker:

Like I'd probably throw it

Speaker:

into the three range.

Speaker:

I think if I had to put a number on it.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

And anxious zero to ten.

Speaker:

Where is that now?

Speaker:

Yeah, I think I was like a five or a six.

Speaker:

And again,

Speaker:

it's probably like two or three.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And I'm curious,

Speaker:

as we were doing the tapping,

Speaker:

did any ideas pop into your head?

Speaker:

Anything like, oh, well,

Speaker:

we could just do so-and-so or, you know,

Speaker:

that's not really that big a deal.

Speaker:

Any, any, or yeah,

Speaker:

I'm really worried about that.

Speaker:

Anything that came to mind

Speaker:

while we were tapping?

Speaker:

And you don't have to share the specifics.

Speaker:

I'm just curious if anything came to you.

Speaker:

Oops, I can't hear you for some reason.

Speaker:

Can you still hear me?

Speaker:

I'm still not hearing you.

Speaker:

Isn't tech wonderful?

Speaker:

I have no idea why your sound went out.

Speaker:

I think it's the battery in

Speaker:

your microphone maybe.

Speaker:

Did you switch to something else?

Speaker:

Yeah, maybe.

Speaker:

Let me switch my mics real quick.

Speaker:

Yeah, I can hear you now.

Speaker:

Great.

Speaker:

Hold on a second.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

I think we're back.

Speaker:

Been one of those days with

Speaker:

internet and bikes, apparently.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So you asked if anything came up for me,

Speaker:

and I think the essence of

Speaker:

what I was grabbing was

Speaker:

what the tapping was doing,

Speaker:

especially as I was

Speaker:

speaking through that process, for me,

Speaker:

it was like, again,

Speaker:

I feel like grounding.

Speaker:

It was like I was pulling it

Speaker:

back into the present moment.

Speaker:

Like there was no...

Speaker:

like anxious is fear of the future.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Frustration is like what's

Speaker:

happening or what's happened.

Speaker:

It was like,

Speaker:

everything was fine in the

Speaker:

moment and that it didn't

Speaker:

like consciously bring me there,

Speaker:

but it felt like none of that was in this,

Speaker:

in the area.

Speaker:

Cause I was very focused on

Speaker:

just being in the present

Speaker:

moment without having to be

Speaker:

focused on the present moment,

Speaker:

if that makes any sense.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So, so far,

Speaker:

nothing has popped into your

Speaker:

head as far as where to go

Speaker:

with the business or anything.

Speaker:

No, just more of a grounded.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Like more of a, it's you're fine, dude.

Speaker:

Kind of feeling.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Cool.

Speaker:

So I want to go back to the calm, clear,

Speaker:

and create.

Speaker:

So what we're having is the

Speaker:

calm feeling you definitely

Speaker:

are experiencing from what you've said.

Speaker:

De-escalation, relaxation, grounded,

Speaker:

present,

Speaker:

and frustrations drop from a six

Speaker:

to a three,

Speaker:

anxious from five to a two to a three.

Speaker:

So that's the calming effect of EFT,

Speaker:

that cortisol dropping

Speaker:

thirty-seven percent just

Speaker:

in those few minutes.

Speaker:

And then the clearing,

Speaker:

you're not feeling the

Speaker:

frustration and anxiousness

Speaker:

nearly as much.

Speaker:

You're more in the present.

Speaker:

So we haven't gotten to the create yet,

Speaker:

which is where you get creative, right?

Speaker:

Is where the ideas start popping in.

Speaker:

So let's do one more round

Speaker:

of tapping and just see what happens.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Perfect.

Speaker:

No promises here.

Speaker:

We'll just see.

Speaker:

So going back to the side of the hand.

Speaker:

So even though I've let go

Speaker:

of some frustration and anxiety.

Speaker:

Even though I've let go of

Speaker:

some frustration and anxiety.

Speaker:

And I'm feeling more grounded and relaxed.

Speaker:

And I'm feeling more grounded and relaxed.

Speaker:

I'm choosing to open my mind and heart.

Speaker:

I'm choosing to open my mind and heart.

Speaker:

To new possibilities for my business.

Speaker:

To new possibilities for my business.

Speaker:

All right,

Speaker:

we're going to go back to the

Speaker:

eyebrow point.

Speaker:

I've let go of some

Speaker:

frustration and anxiety.

Speaker:

I've let go of some

Speaker:

frustration and anxiety.

Speaker:

Side of the eye.

Speaker:

And I'm feeling more

Speaker:

grounded in the moment.

Speaker:

And I'm feeling more

Speaker:

grounded in the moment.

Speaker:

Under the eye.

Speaker:

I wonder what some of those

Speaker:

beautiful ideas are for my business.

Speaker:

I wonder what some of those

Speaker:

beautiful ideas for my business.

Speaker:

Under the nose.

Speaker:

I wonder where we're going to go next.

Speaker:

I wonder where we're going to go next.

Speaker:

Jen,

Speaker:

I wonder if I can just be in the flow.

Speaker:

I wonder if I could just be in the flow.

Speaker:

collarbone.

Speaker:

I wonder if I can just trust

Speaker:

everything's happening the

Speaker:

way it's meant to be.

Speaker:

I wonder if I can just trust

Speaker:

everything is happening the

Speaker:

way it's supposed to be.

Speaker:

Under the arm,

Speaker:

I'm choosing to be kind and curious.

Speaker:

I'm choosing to be kind and curious.

Speaker:

Top of the head and open to

Speaker:

new possibilities.

Speaker:

And open to new possibilities.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

So I'm going to ask you to

Speaker:

close your eyes for a second.

Speaker:

Put your hands over your

Speaker:

heart and maybe take a deep breath here.

Speaker:

And just play with visioning for a moment.

Speaker:

Just anything that comes to

Speaker:

you for your business.

Speaker:

What's next?

Speaker:

What's evolving?

Speaker:

What feels good?

Speaker:

Just play with it for thirty

Speaker:

seconds or so.

Speaker:

And whether anything comes to you or not,

Speaker:

just be open to that

Speaker:

possibility of something coming to you.

Speaker:

So I'll just ask you how

Speaker:

you're doing anything.

Speaker:

Any big ideas pop in?

Speaker:

Sometimes they do.

Speaker:

Sometimes they don't.

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

it was more of a clarity focus kind

Speaker:

of thing.

Speaker:

Like I have the,

Speaker:

the plan is set for what

Speaker:

we're trying to do.

Speaker:

But as soon as I started

Speaker:

kind of being curious around, like, well,

Speaker:

what's, what's in front of it?

Speaker:

What can we be doing?

Speaker:

You know?

Speaker:

And it was kind of like

Speaker:

getting that download,

Speaker:

not like of the whole process,

Speaker:

but of like, oh,

Speaker:

that's where you're going to go, Josh.

Speaker:

Go settle on your nano

Speaker:

emulsions and your

Speaker:

compounds and your

Speaker:

nutrition that you're doing

Speaker:

with the new providers, right?

Speaker:

It's like doom, doom.

Speaker:

But it wasn't like this

Speaker:

conversation I had.

Speaker:

It was like almost like a,

Speaker:

you know how it is, right?

Speaker:

Like you just get the thing

Speaker:

and it's just like, boom, okay.

Speaker:

Like instead of having to do

Speaker:

the winding of like,

Speaker:

what am I going to do?

Speaker:

And it wasn't mine.

Speaker:

It was more of that intuitive thing.

Speaker:

thing that I've been

Speaker:

exploring a lot more lately.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So that to me is the beauty of EFT,

Speaker:

that you literally, you calm yourself,

Speaker:

you clear whatever,

Speaker:

and then you can just think more clearly,

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

that's all I need to focus on and just

Speaker:

trust.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Love that because I've done

Speaker:

something similar in the

Speaker:

past where I call it the

Speaker:

art of doing nothing.

Speaker:

where I'm literally in my own med,

Speaker:

like not meditative, not contemplative,

Speaker:

but like being in that

Speaker:

nothing void with like the

Speaker:

tapping and the speaking was,

Speaker:

I know it's the subconscious in there,

Speaker:

but it's like, it was so cool to,

Speaker:

to have this other tool in

Speaker:

the toolbox and being

Speaker:

guided in the simple way to

Speaker:

being able to do that.

Speaker:

So that was, that was fun.

Speaker:

I really enjoyed that.

Speaker:

I'll,

Speaker:

I'll be exploring that a little bit more.

Speaker:

Cool.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I will tell you when I

Speaker:

work with people or not private clients,

Speaker:

cause we go more in depth, but when,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

I'm doing a presentation

Speaker:

somewhere or whatever.

Speaker:

And the biggest question I

Speaker:

get is I don't know what to

Speaker:

say because I led you through the words.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And, but I, but if you'll notice,

Speaker:

I tried to use your words

Speaker:

as much as possible.

Speaker:

So I tell people to do one of two things,

Speaker:

either just be silent, just tap,

Speaker:

just use these points.

Speaker:

If you forget a point,

Speaker:

don't worry about it.

Speaker:

Just tap and take some breaths.

Speaker:

That's the easiest thing to

Speaker:

do with it or rant and tap.

Speaker:

I am so mad.

Speaker:

I can't believe my brother said that.

Speaker:

Who does he think he is?

Speaker:

What, you know,

Speaker:

just whatever comes to you

Speaker:

and either one of those

Speaker:

will help you kind of get

Speaker:

through whatever's blocking you,

Speaker:

if you will,

Speaker:

where you get to that point

Speaker:

of being able to think more clearly,

Speaker:

like you said,

Speaker:

just kind of that intuitive

Speaker:

hit comes to you when

Speaker:

you're able to let go of

Speaker:

the mind running and running.

Speaker:

well yeah and these are

Speaker:

beautiful tools because

Speaker:

I've spent a good portion

Speaker:

of my you know growth work

Speaker:

of quieting the mind right

Speaker:

and getting into the heart

Speaker:

and that's part of my life

Speaker:

purpose is literally moving

Speaker:

from here to here and

Speaker:

showing others how to do it

Speaker:

so what a cool way to do

Speaker:

that today on my own self

Speaker:

but also understanding

Speaker:

like I said these are tools

Speaker:

in our toolbox that we have

Speaker:

like what we did didn't

Speaker:

take more than five ten

Speaker:

minutes and I don't recall

Speaker:

putting a big old credit

Speaker:

card down to buy like five

Speaker:

hundred dollars worth of

Speaker:

fun of a device I love

Speaker:

biohacking I love that

Speaker:

stuff but it's like this this

Speaker:

this is, you know, to me it's,

Speaker:

it's ancient wisdom meets modern science.

Speaker:

That's why I love this stuff.

Speaker:

And it's,

Speaker:

it's simple right it does

Speaker:

it's complex on how it

Speaker:

works but you don't need to

Speaker:

know right you just said

Speaker:

just tap and vent because

Speaker:

you're pulling that out

Speaker:

energetically and at the

Speaker:

same time you're teaching

Speaker:

the nervous system to

Speaker:

regulate and a lot of what

Speaker:

we are doing here in for

Speaker:

the learner for the

Speaker:

listeners is we are

Speaker:

learning to bring up that

Speaker:

that uh depleting some

Speaker:

people would call negative

Speaker:

like emotion right we're

Speaker:

bringing that up to the

Speaker:

surface and then we're

Speaker:

allowing it to come out

Speaker:

like what you said before

Speaker:

is letting go you want to

Speaker:

go down to the deep

Speaker:

hawking's books and do all

Speaker:

that stuff but what we're

Speaker:

is you can bring it up and let it out

Speaker:

Like we've taught heart math

Speaker:

before with like EFT tapping.

Speaker:

This is another awesome tool because,

Speaker:

but then you try it, right?

Speaker:

You try it out,

Speaker:

you do a session and you

Speaker:

see if it works for you.

Speaker:

And if it does, you explore it more.

Speaker:

If it doesn't resonate with

Speaker:

you after you've tried it, you know,

Speaker:

and stuck with it for a little while,

Speaker:

then we got more tools to

Speaker:

think about and look at.

Speaker:

So how do people work with you?

Speaker:

You have clients you work with.

Speaker:

You're obviously close to me,

Speaker:

which is cool because we

Speaker:

can we can get together on other things,

Speaker:

especially as we move the

Speaker:

wellness center out.

Speaker:

But like, how do people get a hold of you?

Speaker:

Do you have a is it a website?

Speaker:

Are you Instagram?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So I will say that my big focus these days,

Speaker:

Josh, is that the world is crazy,

Speaker:

evolving, changing.

Speaker:

We don't know what's going

Speaker:

to happen day to day.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And so to me, creating inner peace is.

Speaker:

which tapping, meditation, time in nature,

Speaker:

breath work, you know, all the things.

Speaker:

Finding that inner peace

Speaker:

because it's energy, right?

Speaker:

It's we spread the energy of

Speaker:

inner peace out into the world.

Speaker:

We are helping create world peace.

Speaker:

To me, that's very important.

Speaker:

So the main place where

Speaker:

people can find me is on Insight Timer,

Speaker:

the meditation app, Insight Timer.

Speaker:

So I have some meditations

Speaker:

on Insight Timer,

Speaker:

but I do lives every other week.

Speaker:

So for those of you on Eastern time,

Speaker:

it's Tuesdays at one o'clock Eastern.

Speaker:

So whatever that is for you

Speaker:

every other week.

Speaker:

So the next one, well,

Speaker:

I'm not sure when this is

Speaker:

going to come out,

Speaker:

but there's the next one is

Speaker:

May eight or whatever that first.

Speaker:

Actually, I guess it's the second Tuesday.

Speaker:

Anyway,

Speaker:

we'll forget the date because I

Speaker:

can't remember right now.

Speaker:

Anyway, so when on those,

Speaker:

they're thirty minute lives.

Speaker:

We do tapping and meditating to do this.

Speaker:

We calm our own nervous

Speaker:

systems and then we spread

Speaker:

it out into the world.

Speaker:

So don't want to get deep into it.

Speaker:

But if you've looked at Lynn

Speaker:

McTaggart's work or any HeartMath,

Speaker:

another example of when

Speaker:

souls come together and

Speaker:

collectively meditate

Speaker:

together and spread that

Speaker:

energy out into the world,

Speaker:

we do make a difference.

Speaker:

So I feel like that's really

Speaker:

important these days.

Speaker:

So I admit I'm still doing

Speaker:

individual clients,

Speaker:

but my focus is more on the

Speaker:

world peace part that I

Speaker:

feel like we need to do

Speaker:

what we can to make a

Speaker:

difference in the world.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

That's what I've been

Speaker:

following with the HeartMath coherence,

Speaker:

world coherence,

Speaker:

and doing these

Speaker:

beautiful... Because I agree,

Speaker:

that's where the big

Speaker:

ripples start to affect.

Speaker:

So every other Tuesday, one p.m.

Speaker:

Eastern,

Speaker:

how do people sign up through that?

Speaker:

Through a website or...

Speaker:

No, just download the Insight Timer app.

Speaker:

It's on the Insight Timer app,

Speaker:

which there's a free

Speaker:

version and then the paid

Speaker:

version is sixty dollars a year.

Speaker:

So it's still very affordable.

Speaker:

The free version,

Speaker:

you do get the lives and

Speaker:

you get the majority of the meditations.

Speaker:

The paid version,

Speaker:

you get courses and more

Speaker:

in-depth meditations.

Speaker:

But there's yoga, there's sound healing,

Speaker:

there's all kinds of things

Speaker:

on the Insight Timer app if

Speaker:

you haven't ever tried.

Speaker:

tried it out.

Speaker:

No, we had a, we had a, another,

Speaker:

it was fine.

Speaker:

I think I just recently did

Speaker:

a recording where someone

Speaker:

else was on insight timer.

Speaker:

So it's kind of fun to like

Speaker:

see all these new

Speaker:

practitioners like pulling

Speaker:

in and how they can do well

Speaker:

in the world and do well from it.

Speaker:

So thank you so much for that.

Speaker:

I love this episode because

Speaker:

we literally got I got to

Speaker:

do my own stuff.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

But I so thank you for that.

Speaker:

But you literally showed

Speaker:

people how they can get

Speaker:

going without too much effort.

Speaker:

you know, too much complexity.

Speaker:

It's just right there.

Speaker:

So thank you for giving us

Speaker:

that call to action to

Speaker:

actually starting and

Speaker:

trying it and seeing how you do with it.

Speaker:

That's it.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I will say, yeah,

Speaker:

I have a YouTube channel too.

Speaker:

So on my YouTube channel,

Speaker:

there are thirty or forty

Speaker:

or so recordings of tapping.

Speaker:

So you can do tapping with

Speaker:

me on my YouTube channel.

Speaker:

So I think it's Your Tapping

Speaker:

Journey with Ruthie Cohen Joyner.

Speaker:

My business name is Your Tapping Journey.

Speaker:

That's my website.

Speaker:

And I have to admit,

Speaker:

I haven't been doing as

Speaker:

great a job keeping it up to date lately.

Speaker:

So I need to get back into that.

Speaker:

I think people know how to

Speaker:

find each other on all the

Speaker:

different things.

Speaker:

So you're on the YouTube,

Speaker:

Your Tapping Journey.

Speaker:

You can search for your name.

Speaker:

I'm sure you'll find it.

Speaker:

That's awesome information because...

Speaker:

You know,

Speaker:

that's how people are dissecting

Speaker:

and disseminating all this

Speaker:

information out there.

Speaker:

And I love when we can we

Speaker:

can guide them towards the

Speaker:

right side of it.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Not like, oh,

Speaker:

it's out there just so I can

Speaker:

get people to follow me and

Speaker:

do this and do that.

Speaker:

It's like, no, these are true,

Speaker:

real things you can be doing.

Speaker:

So and you're so heart

Speaker:

centered from the

Speaker:

perspective of doing this

Speaker:

for a bigger cause.

Speaker:

reason right not just to

Speaker:

help one person but to

Speaker:

really help humanity to

Speaker:

help us grow into the crazy

Speaker:

conscious ship we're in and

Speaker:

to allow us to have the

Speaker:

tools to be calm be clear

Speaker:

and create into the new

Speaker:

world because we're all in

Speaker:

the unknown here we're

Speaker:

working to be able to

Speaker:

embrace that unknown but

Speaker:

still that unknown can be

Speaker:

pretty pretty whoa you know

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And that's why we have to

Speaker:

have ways of dealing with

Speaker:

our daily stress.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Because it's going to happen.

Speaker:

We're going to be stressed

Speaker:

in today's world.

Speaker:

Just look at any anything

Speaker:

happening in the news.

Speaker:

So you've got to have ways

Speaker:

to take good care of

Speaker:

yourself so you can be part

Speaker:

of the change you want to

Speaker:

see in the world.

Speaker:

That's that's that's the that's

Speaker:

The mic drop moment right there, guys.

Speaker:

Ruthie, this was awesome.

Speaker:

I know we'll be connecting

Speaker:

more just because the

Speaker:

localities we're at and how

Speaker:

much we can help serve each other.

Speaker:

So this isn't the end.

Speaker:

This is just the beginning.

Speaker:

But thank you so much for

Speaker:

this awesome episode and

Speaker:

giving people real tools to

Speaker:

do real things that can

Speaker:

really help them is all a

Speaker:

part of what we're trying to do.

Speaker:

So thank you so much.

Speaker:

You are welcome so much, Josh.

Speaker:

And I wish you the very best

Speaker:

in your evolving business.

Speaker:

And I'm excited to see where

Speaker:

it's gonna go over the next year, two,

Speaker:

three, four, whatever.

Speaker:

I'm excited too.

Speaker:

I think,

Speaker:

I just think it's like the world

Speaker:

is ready for this next level stuff.

Speaker:

And it's been there for a millennia,

Speaker:

but now we're bringing it

Speaker:

back into a way that's

Speaker:

relevant to us in this world.

Speaker:

So I love it.

Speaker:

Thank you so much for joining us today.

Speaker:

Until next time, guys, that's a wrap.

Speaker:

Stay well.
